my laptop went down a few weeks ago to a corrupt boot log. So i grabed the vista disk and looked at it and it was cracked. So i had to upgrade to windows 7. so i got the software yesterday and loaded it up today and went to put in the key and it told me it was a invalid key. so i retyped it and triple checked it and still nothing. so i have no clue what to do next. Was wondering if anyone knows on what to do becides take it back to the store. Thanks Guys!
Hey Guys! Its been awhile but im back! Went through alot in the past year. Moved a few times, divorce, and had a beautiful baby girl. But my divorce should be finalized by the new year. And on Nov. 20th my daughter was born. She was 7lbs 15oz and 20in long. Her name is Rose Marie Spencer. But ive been good myself. The 4 banger is down on power and losing more every day so it does need a rebuild. So i decided to put the 351W in it. And it would cost more to build the 2.3t to the levels i want and the 351 would be a better step in the right direction. Plus i just miss the power of a v8. But im getting around to getting parts for the swap and i need to know what i may need to take a carbed 351 and make it fuel injected. But it won't stay a 351. Im looking to go up to a 408. But im not sure what comp to use to make it run. I do plan on using a MSD box and MSD has a dizzy i could use that would be new. Plus i sorced a upper intake for it i would just need the 351 specific lower. And could i find that in the trucks? or would those be no good to use for a performance set up? And yes it will be a roller motor. So that is solved. But the big one is the engine comp and how to fire this engine off. So any help would be appreciated thanks!
Also i have this problem. If get on it the boost slowly climbs to 9 psi and thats it. Even if i change the setting on the MBC i still get 9 psi. I don't know why it is doing that but it is. What can i do to fix it? And the lines are going from the boost side of the turbo to the MBC then to the waste gate.
ok now the question has been asked hitch gives better power responce on a budget? And ive put my TO4E in the car it feels like it ha ALOT less power then it had with the IHI. I figured yeah id get a little bit more power out of it with the new turbo, But i didn't figure i would be let down like i have. So ive been thinking bout getting the 351W from my father in law and buiding that up a bit. Just enough to give it good HP and torque numbers and yes ive played with the idea of making the TO4E fit that motor. Unless the 3" exhaust i would love to do to the TC would give me what im looking for. But that is for later down the road.
Now i got the TC back together and took it for its voyage today and after bout 20 min of driving i go to shut the car down it continues to run as if i never turned the key off. And the Ign switch is new. So what could it be? Ign coil wire staying energized with key off? Would that keep it running? Oh and to add to the voyage the boost peaked at 10 psi and the car felt like it was running out of fuel (lean) so im not pushing it any further. I just might turn the boost down a bit. But if anyone knows why the car runs after key off please let me know. This could get bad for a turbo car.
Ok im putting my tc fan harness back together and the extra stuff taken out. So now i have an idea to put a switch in here so if and when the ircm fails i can just flip the switch to turn the fan on and off. But would not hinder the opperaton of the ircm. The only way i can figure this out that the switch would have to be on to even make the fan kick on if the relay opens. plus a diagram of this setup would help me out. And its a 88 tc.

As the title states im looking for the parts to finish off my swap. I need the 5 bolt downpipe to bolt to the back of the turbo also a wastegate that would fit with the t04e. Let me know what you got.
Im looking at picking up this turbo for my car. I was wondering how much work would it be to make it work with a stock 2.3T? Since my IHI went bad i mine as well upgrade now when i need to do it. But any info i can get would be helpful. Thanks!
My turbo bit the dust today. If anyone has a T3 or a IHI turbo in good condition please let me know and how much you want for it. Its needed for my daily driver so I need it as soon as possible. Thanks..
Well my wife was like hey babe lets go for a drive. I was like ok (she had to go to walmart). So we start going go turn onto the on ramp. Then i get through to 3rd gear turbo spooling 5 lbs of boost, And i look in the rear view mirror and see a cloud of smoke. So im thinking great just lost the turbo.... Nope!! So i pulled over shut her down get out and what do i see.... A trail from behind my car. So im like hummm what could this be? Look closer its engine oil. I was like oh great what just happened and how much is it going to cost to fix it. So i open the hood and saw flames! I got my ass in gear got the IC pulled and got the fire to go out. After my heart rate went back to normal i saw the oil line blew off the fitting for the turbo. So i got it back on and tight. waited for the engine to cool then started the clean up. Bout 5 quarts of oil under the car. So that was fun. But im glad i bought oil to do my oil change over the weekend. So put all 5 in and let the oil curculate before starting it. And all is good now. just a bit smokey when i drive it. Im sure there is oil in places i can't reach. But the engine wasn't hurt or the turbo. But were all safe and sound.
