General Fox T-Bird/Cougar Discussion / Re: So...LMR is making slick new 10 hole reps in 15x7 and 15x9 in silver and black.
I would love the details on this if you would. Which 16” rim, how there mounted, machining of the TRX’s. Have an 83 that needs this treatment.
pretty simple.
I had a machine shop turn the TRX centers down to barely fit into Center Line billet wheels. 16 x 8 fronts and 17 x 8 rears.
I installed long wheel studs.
The C/L wheels mount as normal with 4 lug nuts.
Then the TRX centers mount with another 4 lug nuts
I used some disc brake dust shields behind the TRX centers

Suspension/Steering / Re: Actual sweet spot on shocks/struts?
Bilstein list one part number for the 79-04 Mustangs so take that into consideration as well. I have heard but not confirmed that they are based on the Fox design.
Has anyone actually run the Bilstein stuff on a stock height car? I would hate to spend that money and ride quality still suck.

Engine Tech / Re: Heating issues and looking for input.
These look nice, but i havent used them. I think the 160 is too cold for efi. I would try 180.
I think you need a better E fan as well. Something oem, not aftermarket. Coutour, Taurus, Mark VII, if you have the clearance for it.

User Rides / Re: 88 XR-7 Project "Save this ol car"
So there will defiantly be some parts sharing with my new friend.
Didn't think I would find someone so close with more 87-88 Cougars than I have

Heater Core Replacement:
https://www.coolcats.net/repairing/heatercore.html
I would suggest that you get the Motorcraft heater core but they are no longer in production so you may be stuck with an aluminum aftermarket unit. Ford P/N on the heater core is E9LY-18476-A and the Motorcraft P/N is HC-5.
Found this video out on YouTube but did not watch all of it:

I did my 88 a few years ago. Just follow the instructions on coolcats and take your time. I was able to get the motorcraft on rockauto, but they are long gone now.

Engine Tech / Re: Holley Terminator X
I dread stopping in lane to make a left turn, let alone stopping on freeway. People have no attention at all.
Did they say what the Ram drivers excuse was?
