87-88 Coolant Overflow Bottle February 22, 2012, 11:11:18 AM I'll try to verify which one I actually need, but I am pretty sure I need the Coolant Overflow Bottle from a 87-88 TC. I have the 87-88 Dual Fan setup on my '85 that I bought a couple years ago now. I had saved an overflow from my '86, but it does not fit correctly. The one I am using has just a small crack in it, so if anyone knows any good glues/epoxies for those plastic overflows--that could be helpful too.Cooter Quote Selected

87-88 Coolant Overflow Bottle Reply #3 – February 24, 2012, 08:40:36 PM Alright, the part number I need looks like E3Z3-8OC45-AC unless someone can verify that a '87-'88 Bottle WITH Bracket will bolt up directly on a '85. Any thoughts? Quote Selected
Early Coolant Overflow Pic Reply #4 – February 27, 2012, 09:51:36 AM Here is a picture of my '85 overflow (that is different from the later ones...including my '86). Notice how it tapers up towards the top, and the mounting band is narrower. I am going to see if the later TC bracket and overflow together work in the older style location. I hope to not have to add a hole, but I will update how it works here.Maybe I can get this thread moved out of Wanted then? Quote Selected

87-88 Coolant Overflow Bottle Reply #7 – February 27, 2012, 11:46:01 AM Any '87 up 2.3 Stang will have the same one...just removed one from the '90 Stang that I have. Quote Selected
87-88 Coolant Overflow Bottle Reply #8 – February 28, 2012, 10:19:06 AM Thanks for the replies guys (good to know the 2.3 Stang uses the earlier style). I have a newer one with bracket on the way (Thanks Jay!). I'll post here if it works out.Cooter Quote Selected
Move out of Wanted Reply #9 – July 12, 2012, 09:30:24 AM I finally put the newer overflow on. The mounting bracket is about 1.5 inches deeper (wider cross-car), and is offset about a .5 inches further inboard than the old setup. So, basically in the new setup I gained a little clearance between the battery and overflow (I wonder why they did this in 86? Or perhaps my car had a 2.3 Mustang Overflow all-along?), but the whole setup is closer to the fans. Some other differences are the new one I received no longer used a single-screw hooked-band to hold it to the bracket. Instead it uses 2 mounting screws and therefore has smaller holes in the plastic than the early band style did. Most importantly it appears to not be cracked, and the mounting bracket did indeed bolt right up using the same mounting pattern! (Thanks again Jay!)Cooter Quote Selected
