Finally making some headway on the EFI swap after 10 years! Got the idle mostly calmed down, still around 900 rpm but smooth, got the exhaust leaks sealed up and a Cylinder Head Temp sensor installed. Working on the transmission wiring at the moment, apparently I ended up with some kind of Frankenstein transmission, data tag and Reverse light switch both specify 1987-89, but the tailshaft has a VSS instead of a gear drive. Very odd as the fellow I got it from had a 2001 Mustang. I managed to find a connector for the VSS to wire in but the Reverse switch is DOA, so I had to order that and a connector from LMR. I tried to get one from the junkyard which is what lead to the above digging, since I couldn't get that connector to fit. I also ordered some new carpet that comes with extra sound dampening so at some point that will get installed.

Much appreciated Eric! Having the part numbers may help me find one of two NOS. There is an old salvage yard near my home town so I may run out there in the next month or so and see if I cannot find four good ones that will clean up and be made to work.

Anyone know where I can get the body molding that goes on the front fenders and butts up to the front bumper cover and the ones that go on the rear quarters and butt up to the rear bumper cover? I removed all of mine years ago and I think I would like to just but these pieces back on at the way the molding stops so abruptly on the front and rear bumper covers. This would at least allow it to blend into the openness of the wheel well openings. I do not have the corner lamps on the front fenders so these would all be solid pieces.
Thanks guys. Exciting with a splash of paranoia and concern about sums it up. Going to start on the bump steer stuff this afternoon.
I hear you there! Mine just hit the road under its own power for the first time in 14 years! I only went 3 miles round trip but it was something! I discovered when I got back that I didn't have turn signals or headlights Thank god the brake lights worked

We are good to go! Thanks to EVERYONE for contributing. I'm in discussions with the developer now and will keep everyone informed on the progress. I don't have an ETA for completion yet...maybe a month or so, if I were to harbor a guesstimate.
Perfect, that's exactly what I needed to know! How did the rebuild of the T5 treat you?
The old transmission is still on the shelf. I had an extra in the garage, which is what I installed. I still plan to investigate the T5 rebuild for another project.
I did pull the one I installed apart many years ago and did a minor rebuild on it though. It's been a minute, but I remember it wasn't all that terrible to do.

Perfect, that's exactly what I needed to know! How did the rebuild of the T5 treat you? Mine's a little notchy and I kinda want a short shifter for more clearance with the stock shift bezel so I'm thinking I should do that as well. (It seems to have too much throw in a couple gears for the factory shift boot, I can't attach the bezel)
Hey Chuck, just got caught up on the last few years. What a ride! I'm ironing out my own issues with my MS3X so I feel your pain. I'm curious what the part number on that radiator is, I'll probably need to replace mine once it's back on the road after sitting in the garage for 14 years.
Thanks! (I saw all of the notifications ) The car is running pretty well (at least well enough to leave alone for the time being)
The radiator is just their "basic" one for the Fox Mustangs with a manual trans (HERE.) I didn't need any more than that.
