Title: >>Thundercats 2007 Calendar<<
Post by: Ether947 on December 29, 2006, 10:33:02 AM
(http://img404.imageshack.us/img404/3806/2007calendarbannerkf6.jpg) (http://"http://www.cafepress.com/etherspot")

It's finally done. :D

The THUNDERCATS 2007 Calendar is officially for sale. Here's the linkage.

:birdsmily::cougarsmily: http://www.cafepress.com/etherspot :cougarsmily::birdsmily:

They are 11x17 Calendar pages on some nice weight stock. I am very pleased with the quality. One thing I did note was that the cover page I received was not "high gloss". I am assuming that this is an oversight on their part and will be corrected. Nonetheless I sent an email to customer support about the problem. But other than that, the calendar looks fantastic.

The price is $21.99 + shipping and you will need a credit/debit card as cafepress no longer takes money orders/checks. The calendars are made to order so it won't ship immediately after you place your order. Please keep this in mind. If you need to order via money order/paypal send me an email (not a PM!).

And I apologize about the wait. I wanted this to be done around Thanksgiving but unforeseen changes forced the delay. I was also not able to retain the car stats as that would have delayed the calendar even more.

If you have any questions or need to order via money order/paypal sent me an email at: ether947@gmail.com ("ether947@gmail.com").

Thanks. :grinno:

I see a car in Sept... it's Aerobirdmotorsports. Cafepress must be screwing with you. xD

And no I didn't add the owners names on there, just the usernames.

Not sure if it's "High Gloss" or not.  Looks a little more satin to me.

I got mine today. Semi-flatish cover. Really cool, awesome job on the layout, but the quality is lacking for $28 after shipping. And even though I PAID for 2-Day shipping it took so long to get here that I couldn't use my 3 "$5 off coupons" on any more of them. Oh well, it looks nice on my wall and that's all that matters ;)

Question, do they give you guys a status of your order? Do they indicate if it is in production or shipped?

I am going to start a poll in the feedback forum to get a gauge on your cafepress experience.

Michael, could you be more specific about the quality?

Thanks.

Post by: Chuck W on January 11, 2007, 09:10:35 AM
I got an update Antonio.

The quality of the overall calender is fine.  What was lacking was good hi-res pics of some of the cars.  Some were obviously low-res and the shots are overly pixelated once enlarged to fit.  I maxed out my digital, but I know mine were still not really high enough quality(need a new camera ..should of bought Nate's).

The price was little high for a calendar, but considering it is a "custom" deal...it's more than fair.

It takes alot of work to get something like this together.
Title: >>Thundercats 2007 Calendar<<
Post by: P71 on January 11, 2007, 09:20:51 AM
I was happy with the calender itself, it's more of a CafePress thing. I paid extra $$$ to get it in 2 days and instead it took 8, so my 3 free $5 off coupons didn't get used (was going to use them to buy more calenders). That was kind off upsetting. And my "high gloss" cover isn't high gloss (just like everybody elses). The work you did on the calender was awesome and even though some of the pics are pixelated (mine included) they still look good. They were white-washed a lot though.

Post by: Ether947 on January 11, 2007, 01:00:57 PM
I agree about the image quality. It's pretty tough to get consistent quality from twelve people with possibly twelve different cameras. But overall I'm happy with it. Eric's photos put everyones to shame. I think it would be a good idea to start next year's at CatJam 07. Maybe I can kidnap me a photographer.

For next year's, I may have two cars per month to reduce the size of the images and fight off pixelation... if that's even a word. Firefox says no. xD I will open up the floor for ideas in a couple weeks. Give myself ample time for next year. :D

I paid for overnight shipping on my first one and just the first upgrade on the second one. Truthfully I could not tell the difference in shipping time. They did however, build my overnight one faster but the shipping seemed to be about the same. I got them both in about two days.

 Thanks for the feedback.

What were the dimensions for the pictures that turned out well?  My barely adequate camera maxes out at 2048x1536 (3.2 MP) and I'm guessing that wouldn't cut it for this.

Mine is a 3.2 MP as well I think.

Mine was 2.5 and it looks horrible. The new camera however does 3.0 or 6.0 so the 6.0 would have looked nice. The shots are all definately white-washed in the calender though.

Odd...my camera is only a 4.0 MP. I didn't think it took pictures that were any better or worse than other cameras I've seen. But I do use a tripod for nearly all my picture-taking. That pretty much eliminates blurriness and unintentional graininess.

Ordered the calendar today too. ;)

The tripod is probably what made the difference. There were a couple with higher resolution than you but yours where crystal clear at just about any size.

Another thing is I orginally designed the calendar for 8.5x11. And at the last minute I changed them to 11x17. But most of the images only needed to be scaled up slightly. I think Billy's was one of the ones that was way too small but I really liked his car & layout and I just couldn't let it go.

But this is a learning experience for me, and I will have a better idea of what is required next year.

Oh, and thanks.

SSX:

Chuck's were 2048x1536.
Eric's were 2288x1712.
83_Prostreet's were 2304x1782. <GrowlXR7's were 2592x1944.

I had higher res photos....I compressed the ones I sent so it wouldn't be a huge email.  If I would have known how pixelated the cal page would have been, I would have sent the pics that you used for my layout uncompressed.  Noob mistake.  Mine looks good from a distance though.  Nice job.

I got my calendar on Wed. 1/17. I can see what you're saying now, Antonio, about the graininess...then again, stepping up to the larger calendar size at the last minute, that's definitely a huge factor. But overall I thought most of the pix were very usable. At least from a distance everything looks pretty sharp, and that's what really counts. I'm pleased with the overall calendar. Especially December. :D

Speaking of...did I request that month, or is there another reason why there's a convertible depicted during the coldest month of the year? ;)

I used a 5.0 mp camera on my shots and I think they came out pretty good. I didn't really notice much if any pixelation.... The only downside was the sun glare, but the white car always seems to reflect it .... lol

Thanks for giving me August, one of my favorite months to go out cruising.... ha ha.... I hope to make it out to a cat jam sometime, unfortunately they are way too far for me to drive my car and I don't have a trailer yet.......

Thanks,,, again
