what color lights on radio?

I am looking to find a replacement original Electronic AM/FM Stereo Cassette radio without premium sound for my 1985 XR-7.

I have found ones that have either the red or the green numerical dispaly in them. Which is correct for my car? Does anyone have any images from an '85 dealership brochures so I can verify I have the correct unit?

Well In my XR-7 i have the buttstuffog Casette radio WITH the premium sound, however I also have the dealership brocuhre I can check out for you later when I get home from work. But if my memory serves me well I don't think there's a picture of the head unit.

But my guess is that It would be the green.

It should be green.

I can't recall when I've ever seen a red-lighted interior in a Ford.

I'm thinking 85 and earlier mustangs had red dash illumination.

I think your right about the 'stangs. My friend has an '85 and it's red.

Early Mustangs (79-82) were green, then they went to red for a bit (83-86), then back to green I think.
You should have green in a Tbird/Cougar though...

Yep, my '86 Stang was red, and my '87 was green...

My 1988 T/Bird is green, if that helps??

Yeah, I think all the T-birds/Cougars form at least 83-88 were green. Perhaps the 80-82's were too, but they might've been blue.
