T-Bird/Cougar Parts & Cars WANTED / Turbo Coupe parts in eastern Canada
Ok, it's getting on for time to put the T-Bird to sleep for the winter, and when it wakes up in Spring I'd like to surprise it with some upgrades. I can't seem to find anything locally, perhaps somebody east of Montreal may stumble across this plea and have what I need:
 
  • Red TC cloth front seats in good condition (no tears). XR7 or '88 Sport seats will do as well. Power or not, it doesn't matter. I may want the back seat too if the pattern doesn't match my current one. If you have red leather I may want that as well, as long as you have front and rear and there are no tears. I may also take a set of the two-tone dark grey/light grey seats as a last resort.
  • TC header panel and inner lights. Bumper cover not required, but if you have one I may take it. Hood too.
  • TC front spindles, rotors, calipers, etc
  • TC rear axle
Ideally, if somebody has a complete TC that they're junking I would be interested in that, as long as the parts noted above are good. Drivetrain and body do not matter, so long as the seats, header panel, front susp and rear axle are intact.

Lounge / Election Day: Who's gonna take it all?
I wouldn't even think of asking this question in a less-civilized board, but I think we can handle it here. We're all mature adults and get along remarkably well. That being said, if this thread gets out of hand with name-calling and whatnot I'll weild my mighty admin stick and smite it out of existence faster than you can collectively blink. Be civil, folks - 'tis all I ask.
 
At the risk of polarizing just about everybody, who do ya think is gonna take the election?
 
The question is not necessarily who are you gonna vote for, nor who you think SHOULD win, but who you think WILL win and why.
 
I think Kerry's gonna take it due to the activist vote. Not saying that everyone who votes for Kerry is an activist, but what I'm saying is that people who vote Kerry are looking for change or are pissed off at something, and people who are looking for change or are pissed off at something (in short, people with strong feelings) are more likely to get out and vote. Myself, I'm Canadian, so I don't really get to vote.

Thought I'd make the first post in this section. What have you got for entertainment in your car? Mine is a fairly mild (read cheap) setup, a veritable Heinz-57:

It won't win any SPL competitions, but it sounds ed good at painful volumes!

Lounge / Donations
Several of you have PM'd me asking if you can make a donation to the new messageboard, and others have indicated on the old board that should a new board become a reality they would kick in some cash. I told those who PM'd me that I'd put a donation button up as soon as I could figure out how without using HTML (which is not enabled on the messageboard of course). I think I've figured it out, so if you wish to donate you should be able to by clicking on the button below:
 


Now, in order to shmooze for cash with a free concience I must state the following:


  • Donations are and will always be optional. This will NEVER become a pay-for-play site, nor will it ever have advertisp00gets (other than for mine or Eric's websites or products sold therein). Should you choose to donate it will be your own choice.
  • Any amount is appreciated. There is no maximum, no minimum



  • Donations will not change your status on the board. Everybody gets equal treatment here, there's no buying status



  • Donations will be kept anonymous unless you want to brag about it, in which case you can do so in this thread

Lounge / Bird or Cat: What's in your driveway?
In the spirit of the shiny new board, let's get a demographic of our visitors. What do you have? Bird? Cougar? Hyundai (:yuck: )? I know many of you have more than one Fox Thundercat, but you can only choose one in the poll, so if you have, say, a pristine Cougar and a beater 'Bird, pick "Cougar". In short, pick what you consider to be your "Main" Bird or Cat.
 
Edit: You can pick more than one, but only different choices, (for example, 83-86 Bird and 87-88 Cat). If you've got more than one on the same body style you can only vote once for that body style, so Tom, you can only choose one 87-88 Turbo Coupe :p  (this is a limit of the poll function, not a choice of mine)

  • When selling any item, you MUST include your location (city, state/province). Posting something for sale does not do you any good if nobody knows where to find it! There have been complaints about this, so it will be enforced from here on out. If you find your ad replaced with the words "RULE #4" you'll know why.
  • Whenever possible, include a pic. This website has provisions for attaching pictures to posts, so not having an online host is no excuse. your item will sell much faster - People are reluctant to buy what they can't see.
  • Even if you aren't a regular here, if you post something for sale at least have the courtesy of checking your thread at least once daily. Most people will ask questions about your item in the thread you post it in.  If those questions go unanswered the thread will be considered abandoned and subsequently deleted.
  • No spam. We don't want your X2 Spy Camera or pen 15 enlargement pills, and we don't want your spam. Take it elsewhere.
  • We reseve the right to edit, remove, delete or lock any thread at our sole discretion with no warning. If we feel your advertisp00get does not meet the standards of this community, consider it gone

In this thread you'll find archives of the threads that were determined to be invaluable in the old board. The threads were archived verbatim, with nothing changed, so that you may see them as they were originally. They are mostly in PDF format, with links to the original threads on the old board. The original threads will remain active for as long as EZBoard sees fit to keep them so.
 
I will be updating this post as I get more archived. In the meantime, if any of you get anything archived feel free to post it here as well!

General Fox T-Bird/Cougar Discussion / The new Fox T-Bird/Cougar Messageboard Commandments. PLEASE READ
Welcome to the new Fox T-Bird/Cougar messageboard. Please take a moment to read this welcome message.
 
As you all know, the old messageboard was quite remarkable in that everyone got along. There were very few arguments, and even when there was one, it was settled quickly and in a friendly manner. Very seldom was a post ever deleted, locked or moved. People just plain behaved themselves. That is exactly the kind of forum we want the new one to remain. However, there are a few rules, which I hope should be common knowledge anyway:

  • Please post your message in the most appropriate forum. In other words, please don't post your car for sale in the tech section or something like that. I don't want to have to resort to moving threads around like they do in those other boards, but if it gets out of hand I will.
  • Please keep the profanity to a minimum. We're mostly mature adults here, but some people get offended by profanity. My mother visits this board occasionally and she hates the F-word, so right off it's banned. If other words are abused (like "Chevy" or "Camaro"... just kidding, OldRaven) they will be blacklisted as well.
  • There will be absolutely no nudity tolerated in any image, whether it is hosted on your server or ours. Our web host has a strict no-nudes policy and we honour it. Scantily-clad women in your avatars are included in the ban if they are offensive.
  • Racism, discrimination, shagism, name-calling and any other offensive behaviour will not be tolerated. While we hope that everyone would honour this out of decency I thought it should have been mentioned anyway.
  • Some topics of discussion are not permitted here. Religion and politics are the two biggies. Threads on those two subjects ALWAYS go bad. We'd really rather do without the drama here.
  • Spammers will be treated even worse than perpetrators of racism or discrimination. If you join this board just to post spam, links to spam, or links to offensive websites (including websites that intentionally try to damage people's computers) your post, and your account, will be deleted as soon as I become aware of it.
  • Finally, while the admins and mods assume no responsibility for the contents of any thread posted within this messageboard, we do reserve the right to edit, move, lock or delete any thread at our sole discretion. This is not likely to happen if the spirit of the old board carries over, but if the situation ever arises you've been informed.
I'm sure that all of you agree that we're not being too strict here. The important thing is to carry on in the same manner you would have in the old board. Have fun!
