General Fox T-Bird/Cougar Discussion / I'm back... hopefully. Need some help.
Quick Background: I lost interest in my cougar after my dad died in 2008 from an unexpected heart attack. I sold his 88 cougar because I couldn't stand looking at it sitting in the driveway. My 88 cougar sat untouched to only be start up once a month to keep it running.

I was younger and dumb back then and thought I knew it all, ha, and swapped 19 lb/hr injectors into my 5.0S.O with an HO intake upper and lower. S.O. Camshaft and thought the computer would compensate. Well it didn't and it ran like a turd.  The stock injectors were junk as for the reason for buying HO injectors so I do not have the stocks to put back on.

I'm asking for help, WHERE CAN I GET SOME STOCK 14 lb/hr gray injectors for the 88 5.0SO without paying $300!!?  I'm looking for free to little as possible as I need some serious cash to get this baby looking good again as the tires and wheels need replaced. The body had been fully restored and has 100% NO RUST or dents. Glass and interior are perfect plus the fiberglass gfx.

It has sat next to the garage for quite some time and needs some cleaning and some work done to get it back on the road. Seems as the drums are locked and front rotors have rusted a bit to the front pads. I'm sure with a little patience and cleaning I can get those unstuck.

Haha I was hoping that the bear didn't toss anything against the car!:mullet:

Suspension/Steering / Wheel and Tire Recommendation
So I pulled the cougar out of the garage today to see some sunshine.

She needs a good cleaning, and I mean lots of detail work. Anyways.

As I sat there and looked at it, I'm not feeling the wheels at all. It's time for the 14s to go.

Current 215/70r/14 tire on it. They just dont seem meaty enough. For our style car and look a bit "passenger tire"ish.

Any good websites or ideas on a tire size wheel combo to get me started with??
Requirements:
17"+
4 Lug
What offset?

T-Bird/Cougar Parts & Cars WANTED / 5.0HO Engine WANTED: IM BEGGING!!
My junkyard owners are a bunch of nut jobs who just for some reason will not do any business with anyone unless they are body shops or garages.

My 5.0S.O. is beat.

Anyone in the PA, OH, NY, MD area have or know of a yard that has a 5.0HO fuel injected w/ harness, computer so that I can do the swap before CJ??

Pretty much I am on my knees trying to find anything.  I came across a 351M about 40 miles away, this morning but I do not want those due to the lack of performance. And would much rather stick with the 5.0 for cost and simplicity at the moment.

T-Bird/Cougar Parts & Cars WANTED / Wanted: Turbocoupe and 302HO and 16"/17" wheels and coil
Its becoming summer again boys and girls... and I took at a peak at the cougar in storage, and I just got cougar fever once more.

Okay I would hope to find a whole parts car for as cheap as possible

1.
I'm looking for leads for a 87-88 t/c with grey, blue, or black interior.
I would like to re-do the interior in my 88 cougar now as its pretty beat.

2.
Also I would like 3.73 gears and some goodies off of the t/c.
Not interested in tc hood. any 2.3l motor or any engine turbo stuff.

3.
Also my 5.0 is on her last leg, I think another trip to CJ and she will be toast.  Any leads on any 5.0HO?

4.
the 88 blue max needs a broken front coil spring replaced. I need one of these.

5.
Also looking for chrome used 16" or 17" wheels (and tires if possible) for my 88 ls. My 15s look too small with the bodykit.

Anyone know of anything in the Pennsylvania region???

Lounge / Sad news
My Dad passed away last week in Wisconsin during a rehearsal dinner for his cousin's wedding. He was 49 years old and suffered a massive heartattack. He was showing no symptoms of anything prior to this. He has overcame a lot of hurdles, healthwise , but never did I imagine this could happen.

It's extremely hard for me to come online and even think about cougars without thinking of doing this hobby without my Dad. My Dad introduced me to the cougar back when I was 16 when he bought me my first 88 cougar. He worked many extra hours and overtime so that he could help buy me my first car. I took it for granted. He searched online, searched junk yards, searched for sale ads for good deals on mods for the coug. We worked on that 88LS for hours, him teaching me some mechanic work. We attended our first CJ together CJ 03 with the white 88LS. Since then our love for car shows grew, attending CJ04, CJ05 CJ 06 and CJ 08. We spent many many long nights in the garage together working on the blue cougar that once sat in a junk yard for years. He helped me work out many many bugs that the car came with.

He loved going to CJ, sometimes even more than I did. Every year he would push me to come to the meet to see everyone and their cars. Two years ago he had to jump into the group by purchasing Eric's 88 Blue Max.  The car still sits beside my blue coug in the garage. He was planning on me doing some body work to it this spring and was excited about our first year of going to car shows together with them.

This past week, his loss didnt hit me until I walked up to our garage and looked at our two cars sitting there beside each other, remembering what we used to do together. Father and Son...

Our Birthdays are on the same Day, 9/24 .

Sadly my Father will be missed and I will miss everything that he was to me. Next year's CJ will be especially hard for me, My Best friend who I could share many laughs and memories with will no longer be sitting right next to me. It will just be me, by myself.

:shakehead ^ last month @ my sister's wedding.

T-Bird/Cougar Parts & Cars FOR SALE / 87-88 Thunderbird Fiberglass Kit (Cougar with slight modification)$700OBO
Alright guys/girls.....

Semester bill is coming up quick for school, and I'm broke.

I have a  4 Piece (Nose, two sides, Rear) 87-88 tbird Fiberglass bodykit in primer gray (lightly sanded on rockers and rear)  Will fit cougars but the nose needs to be slightly modified for the point of tbirds, can be done with a few layers of fiberglass or body filling (your call).

Front Nose Piece (Spazpuppies's picture of his car, same kit)

I purchased about a year and half, if not 2 years ago from a company in Texas and had it shipped to PA on a flatbed truck (200 dollars)

Since then I believe this company is no more as their phone number how I contacted them doesn't work as of Aug 2007.

I paid a little more than 900 for this kit to be made, fees, tax and shipped to me. (Waited a month for production) This kit was never on the car. The week that I received the kit I lightly sanded the rough fiberglass. But before paint the pieces will need to be sanded again.  I hate to do this but I'd rather see someone else that will use it and put it on theirs.

I'm located in DuBois, PA Milemarker 101 on I-80.

I would like to get as close as what I paid for it as I need to come up with two thousand by the end of the month for my semester bill.  But I'm willing to entertain serious offers.

Please email or PM me

Lounge / A Sad, Sad Day today...
Had to see my first car (bought when I was 15) get towed away today.

It was the car that started it all for me, the passion of cars.

Today my 88 LS was towed away. Sad to see it go, but had to make room for my new (well not new) but new vehicle. 84 Chevy Blazer K5 Silverado (offroad toy)

The cougar's tranny was completely shot and she only had the 3.8L v6. She is the only cougar that I have ever seen with NO OPTIONS at all. NOTHING.  Brown interior, roll-up windows, yah.. I still loved it though.

Ahh so depressing.

Many of you met my father at the past Cat Jams. Brent.

Well some of you even know that this past winter he had to have his foot removed due to a work accident and a complication with titanium artificial bones. Anyhow yesterday he finally was able to get sized for a artificial limb.

The designer stated that the color of the limb is up to the person and since the option is given usually the person choices the natural skin color. But my Dad usually wears pants anyways. The designer stated that some people get decals of their favorite things and those will be dipped in the limb material and then will display the logos outward.

Basically my Dad will have a tattoo just w/o the needles.  Anyways he chose a BLUE background color to match our cats. W/ the cougar emblem.

He enjoyed every minute calling me today at school to tell me about his design he is picking out. I told him that he was nuts....  he laughed and said that he couldn't wait for this summer car shows!

Wow... guess he has me beat!
