Lounge / Local cruise
Well today was the local cruise in my area, its been pretty popular the past 10 years. It was raining pretty hard on my way into town, and I figured nothing would really show up but the turnout was pretty good including a few foxes.

Drivetrain Tech / C5 transmission
What is needed to make a C5 work in a car like ours? I had thought about putting one of these of a T-5 in my car but got a pretty good deal on a C5 that I may buy. Any thoughts?

T-Bird/Cougar Parts & Cars FOR SALE / Tranny and SO heads
Okay, I have an 86 AOD tranny that was good when pulled and a pair of heads from my SO motor. Make me an offer.

I would prefer no shipping, so local pickup is preferred. I'd really like the heads to work the same way. I will entertain trades as well. Really don't need these things so they can go.

Lounge / What does a used AOD go for?
I have a swap meet tomorrow and I'm selling my AOD from my 86 parts car. How much do you think a used AOD and 86 SO heads would go for? The tranny worked fine before it was pulled out.

Is $100 too much for an AOD or not enough?

Hey guys, as you know I've been working on my 85 for a while now and have alot that needs to be done before it is put back on the road again. Problem is I have another car I have been toying with that runs and drives (We'll not talk about that). At one point I was even thinking about selling it and letting someone else fix it up. I want to keep it but I just don't really feel like its getting any easier to buy the parts to fix it. I got laid off in December (Day after Christmas no less) and haven't found a new job yet, my wife is working at a new job making more money so we are doing just fine. I guess what I am trying to say is, I feel like I have somewhat lost the love for my car (Never thought I'd say that). I love being on this forum and seeing all of your beautiful cars but i just get so overwhelmed knowing I really shouldn't be throwing money into my hobby whilly nilly right now. Now that its in the mid 60's outside I want more and more to work on something but I just get irritated with the Cougar. Should I just leave it in the shop for now and wait it out? I've come to really value all of your opinions so let me know what you think.

Okay guys, I know I've had a few pics of my car on here before but we got a new digital camera and I was out taking pictures of the tranny linkage anyway so I figured I might as well throw some pictures of my car on here.


Turbo motor at all of its 86K mile glory.


I like how they tried to repair the steering wheel with E-tape.


I at all different stages right now, trim all pulled, paint ideas laid out, cutting out rust. Sorry my shop looks like a bomb went off inside it.


Nothing out of the ordinary other than the headliner makes the inside of the car feel like a tent.


I painted this at work one day, I like the results.


I did these at the same time. I'm a big fan of blacked out trim and the chrome on the front really didn't fit the car when all the other trim was blacked out from the factory.


Just cleaned up my V8 tranny crossmember and painted it to hold off the rust. I am contemplating a V8 in the future but it will stay turbo 4 for a while until I am ready to begin.
