I have for sale a piece of urban legend and folklore.. a crack free dash for an '85-88 Fox t-bird. It'd been waiting for a new home for a while, but I am moving on from thunderbirds.
I'll take $350 + actual shipping. There's only one way that I am shipping this, and that's having the UPS store pack it and insure it. I'm not going to deal with the hassle of someone's wonderful dash breaking due to my own negligence. This is to protect both of us, and given how few of these there are, wouldn't the extra $50 or so buy some peace knowing it was done right, and protected from whatever UPS does to your package?

A little backstory - I bought this car a year ago as a parts car for my Son's '86. It had been sitting for 8 years. After pulling it home, I looked it over, and thought, this is a very restorable car with only 69k miles. I then set to get it running and test it out. There are so many good parts, and all the rust is surface rust - no rust holes that I've found.
I replaced the tank, fuel pump, sending unit, changed the fluids, and put a battery in it. With little more than that, it fired up and I was able to drive it around. I drove it for a little bit, but decided that the brakes needed serious attention. I have completely rebuilt the front end- rebuilt steering rack, new a-arms, upgraded Brakes and spindles to the larger 1987 ones, and put SN95 springs on the front. The only thing the front end needs is a pair of the Maximum motorsports caster/camber plates because of the change in spindles.
In the engine bay, I replaced the timing belt/water pump/belts & hoses, distributor, plugs, wires, and radiator, or course after flushing the whole engine and seafoaming it twice.
In the interior, I cleaned and scrubbed it, and put in a new heater core while I had it apart.
I have the A/C hoses off at the moment, because I was going to get a new dryer hose made, but ran out of time. I'll include that, as well as a kit to convert to freeze-12, which works really good with this compressor.
This is a drivable restoration. Honestly, I still tinker around with it and drive it to run errands, etc. As it was sittling for a while, I wanted to get the bugs worked out of it, and they are - for the most part.
It's a very easy restoration, and I had intended on finishing it this summer. I had even bought the paint to complete, which I will include. Urekem Stellar Silver Urekem Gunmetal Grey
Finally, I have an extra bumper for the car, because this one is split. I'll include that, too.
I have $2500k in it with all the new parts and I'd take $2k. Stick around a week, and I may throw it on ebay as well. I just need to clean up the shop and make my todo list much shorter. Negotiable: I have a rear from a 1987, as well as new calipers, rotors, and pads, a new aluminum ford racing bearing set, a new carbon disk set, and a new ford racing aluminum differential cover, new maximum motorsports control arms & OEM SN95 springs for the rear. I'll include all of that for an additional $350 to the buyer only (price it out, this is an incredible deal). My goal was to rebuild the TC rear and swap it out, upgrading the brakes in the process. If the new owner wants to do the same, he/she has all the parts to do it.
I still need to sell and/or get rid of a bunch of stuff. I am getting rid of all my thunderbirds because my work has gotten insanely busy lately. In addition, I am an assistant scoutmaster with two boys working on eagle projects, so I just don’t have time for my own hobbies anymore.

First the good - there is a very nice leather interior, rust free body, crack free dash, 87,000 miles on body, rebuild engine with a D-Port head and ranger roller cam. Link to this Head on Ebay
The bad: The engine harness looks like mom’s spaghetti. You can read from the threads that the previous owner had disconnected everything in order to put in a 302. While the wires are all there, you will definitely need to trace things in order to make this a running car again.
For some reason, the door and the fender were out of adjustment & rather than fix it, they have been allowed to rub against each other causing dents in both the passenger door and fender.
The ugly:
Since it’s not running, I assume there are misc things that are needed/need repair. For example, the dual fan setup is cracked and will need replaced.
I bought the car delivered for $1,000 and I thought I would scavenge parts off of it for my other project. I had every intention of swapping out the interior to my white car if I ever got that one finished. Somewhere along the way, I bought a used wiring harness for $250 with the intent of making it a running car. I think with little work, this could be a fun project, but it is a project. Alternatively, I believe the leather interior is worth $500 and since a crack free dash is made of unobtaineum, that’s probably worth another $400. Basically, if you buy the interior, you get the shell and the engine for free.
I don’t have the time to part this car, and I’m pretty firm on my price of $1000. Feel free to reply or PM me if you’re interested. This will be out of my shed before fall, one way or another!
It's will really heavy heart that I am posting this.
I took a new role at work a year ago, and I'm only getting busier. It looks like I will be running a startup division, which will take all my attention next year. Since I haven't touched this really in a year, I need to clear out the garage. Since I have bought many parts from folks on the forum, and have gotten a lot of good insight into these cars, I'm posting this to see if there's any interest in any of this stuff "whole" before I start tearing it apart.
I was building a really nice project, but now, I'm traveling way too much to dedicate any more home time to it. As you'll see below, I had collected quite a lot of high quality components, and since most of this stuff is put together, I thought someone might be interested. I'd really rather not strip this apart piece by piece, but if I have to, I can certainly do that.
Everything is located in Central Illinois, but I get to Chicago weekly (flying out tomorrow).
Front: Everything to convert to cobra brakes, including new ford racing (2004 mach 1) control arms, rebuilt cobra calipers (with lettering+ G2 caliper paint), new Hawk pads, new rotors, rebuilt spindles with new timken hubs, new brake lines, sn95 springs, and other I'm certain I'm forgetting.
Rear: Rebuild MK7 rear housing (heavy duty), sandblasted & painted. SN95 axles, actual cobra brakes & calipers rebuilt with G2 caliper paint, new Hawk pads, new rotors, all new seals & bearings, 3.73 gears, new carbon fiber posi clutch pads, brake lines, new Silver CHE upper and lower control arms (have a set of black, too), new KTM shocks, Mark 7 and Turbo Coupe parking brake cables, and a new Trick Flow pumpkin cover with stainless hardware.
Engine: 1986 HO shortblock (9.5:1 compression ratio and forged internals). Everything but the pistons/rods were gone through, completely cleaned, painted gloss black, and built up from there. High flow oil pump, TFS1 cam, TW170 heads CNC ported with Miller Mid-Lift Rocker Arms, TrickFlow Track heat upper and lower - Lower is TMOSS ported. New BBK Headers, new timing chain/cover, New water pump, small water pump pulley, chrome 200amp Powermaster 3g alternator, "Aaron Price" low mount alternator bracket. Trick flow valve covers, new cut-to-length plug wires, which I haven't cut yet. I assembled everything with high quality components, including using an engine nut/bolt kit from totally stainless. If that's not enough, i have a set of new chuck's mounts to go with it ;-)
Transmissions - have two choices:
The AOD from the 1986 mustang with a Lincoln high stall torque converter. Has a shift kit (installed before I got it). Includes thunderbird AOD floor shifter kit with cable (rare).
A complete T5 with short-throw shifter, brand new valeo king cobra clutch, pressure plate, throwout bearing, flywheel, pedals out of an '87 mustang, clutch cables, etc. Should have everything there.
I also have a new gas tank with high flow pump if needed. I have the shell of the car, too, but I doubt there would be much interest in it once all this goodness is gone.
Finally, I have another 1988 turbo coupe that has a spectacular body & leather interior, but the wiring harness is really messed up, and another parts car 1988 turbo (total hunk of junk) if anyone needs anything.
I have extra body panels, billet wheels, etc.

The 1986 T-Coupe that my son and I worked on for the last two years met a dreadful fate in the high school parking lot. The quarter is smashed up from someone smacking into him. They did a number on it, but I'm hoping someone out there happens to have one (or a car we can cut one from).
I know it's a long shot, but I sent feelers out to the junkyards, and they said that they don't keep anything that old in stock, they just send it to the smelter....

This is a bit of s long shot. I replaced the dew wipes on one of the '86 birds, but now I realize how crumbly the window channel rubber is. Does anyone have a good set that they are interested in selling?
Does anyone have an explorer intake lying around for a 5.0? I am doing a speed density build and wanting to keep a stock-ish look to one of my cars. I'll scour ebay and Craigslist, but I thought I'd help a forum member out by taking some parts off your hands if I could!
I traded one of these a year ago after having it sit on the shelf for a very long time...
Now I have need of one. Does anyone have a 65mm TB, egr plate, TPS/IAC that they want to sell or trade for? I am doing a low-budget 5.0 build (in addition to the other two builds I have going on right now), and I thought I'd go ahead and give the intake a quick port and upgrade the throttle body while I was at it.
I have a lot of parts that I can barter if there's something you're interested in as well. Just ask - I might just have it.
