PMGR starter wiring

I know the way most wire these is move the heavy starter cable to the hot side of the solenoid, and then add a wire from the switchecd side of the solenoid to the PMGR soleniod.

My ?  is instead of adding the wire from the switched side of the solenoid at the fender why not just tap into and lengthen the current switch signal wire at the solenoid extending it to the starter.


Any thoughts?  Anyone tried it?
