alright, im going to be doing exhaust on the TC when im able to afford to do so (this week gave me a short paycheck since i had thanksgiving and the friday off), so i cant afford to do it this week, and i still need tires and other BS, but is there a place that will make/sell a single 3" tailpipe for a stang? a guy on NATO (Stinger) sells a downpipe to ler exhaust setup, you supply your own ler, and tailpipe, and i cant find anywhere that makes a 3" tailpipe
anyone knows a plays that sells them already made? people around here wont touch a catless car
i really like the facory premium sound in the TC, it actually sounds better than the speakers and head unit i put in my red bird, but the downfall as we all know, is that we cannot play CD's
ive read many times over that you cant use an aftermarket head unit with the premium sound, but would it be possible to use a trunk mounted 5-cd changer or something similar in conjunction with the premium sound
i have no idea how a cd changer is wired, or how it works, this is just an idea off the top of my head
well, i just brought the car home, no power steering made it interesting
i did encounter a typical TC problem, i was driving, then it started running like ass, bucking, jumping, shaking, going nuts, then it just cleared up and ran fine
the car is in need of a tune up, tires, exhaust bangs around a little, it hesitates a bit, power steering needs fixing and some good ole Tbird232ci type lovin
i dont know many details since i havnt gotten the car yet...but here goes
the turbo coupe has a blown high pressure hose for the power steering, the previous owner told me it blew 2 other hoses, and he couldnt figure out why, i sat and thought, there would be no reason for the pump to cause the lines to blow, and the rack couldnt have aything to do with it, so what could?
could he have gotten the wrong hoses, or could he have no installed them properly?
well, maybe 2 weeks ago, i decided it would be a good idea to sell the dodge, seeing as there is virtually no parts interchange with the bird, and i decided id love to get a TC, i did probably a few days of looking around, and saw that they were going for way too much and wernt in the shape i was looking for
well, a friend of mine caught wind of this, during the summer, he and i went to look at an 87 TC, gray with a red leather interior, ran decent, 5-speed, had all options but keyless and moonroof, little better shape than my bird, big issues were tires, exhaust banged around, and it has a surging problem, the guy wanted 1000, but would go down to 800, my friend offered 500 and the guy said no, few weeks later, the guy called him back and said he'd take 500, but my friend didnt have the money
fast forward a few months, im working, i want a turbo coupe, and the car is still sitting for sale, my friend is going to call him today and see if he'd still be willing to let it go for 500, and if so, i may drop a 200 dollar down payment after i talk to my dad for it
if/when i get the car, the dodge is going up for sale
ive been doing some slight looking around and whatnot for doing this swap, and had a nice discussion about it with Sancho last night
we came to the conclusion that a 5.0 bellhousing will not work for the T5 swap due to the difference in the size of the flywheels, the 3.8L has a larger diameter flywheel that the 5.0 bellhousing will not clear
another issue that Sancho brought to my attention was that the 3.8L bellhousing is 3/4 inch longer than the 5.0's bellhousing, i dont know if this would effect shifter placement or not, or the driveshaft
something else i need to look into is the shifter fork, does this interchange with the 5.0 or is it also a 3.8 only part
it was drizzling a few days ago, and i was coming home from work, at a quick clip since i was on a straight section, and got on the brakes pretty hard for a turn, and my sunroof dripped on me, so later that day, i was doing about 85 on the highway with no one around, and i test it again, i got on the brakes, and the sunroof started allowing air in
ive come to realize, the body flex on these cars is pretty nasty
