I already have a turbocoupe rear in my 1988 Sport. I want to swap to 5 lug. I know the Mustang stuff is available but the Mark VII have vented rear rotors. Can you use the axles, disc and calipers on the turbocoupe rear diff for a 5 lug swap or is there issues?
I am looking for a set of front clear signal lights from a 1983 Thunderbird or Cougar. I heard on here that they are only from the 1983 cars. If you have a set for sale please let me know. Thanks Shane shanewherry@hotmail.ca
Hey everyone. I was just wondering what year(s) of Thunderbird had the clear front turn signal lenses? Was it only the 1983 or were there other years? Thanks
I am looking for a shifter boot pannel and the ashtray pannel with dual seats, mirror and window switch holes. If you have one of these in good condition please contact me. I live in Canada and my area code is T1X1J1 Chestermere, Alberta.
What do I need to know before performing this swap? I am guessing parts are all from a Mustang. Any harnesses I need or any bumps I am going to encounter? So far I have a WC 91 T5, 28 oz flywheel, King Cobra clutch, mustang pedals, aluminum quadrant and adjustable cable.
So I am playing with the TC door panels and putting them into my sport. There are a couple problems with that. I noticed that the 2 bolt holes below the ramrest pad that hold the plastic too the door, the rear one bolts to nothing. The other thing I noticed is that the plastic part by the top of the arm rest (by the top where the door lock pad is), the tab is allways broken off. I know it hides behind the speaker cover. Is ther a repair or fix to that?
This was the easiest swap to do. Everything bolted into my Bird and all I had to do was buy a $4 brake line adapter for the proportioning valve when I swaped in the TC proprotioning valve. The rear brake line was the same as the TC line and in the same locaton too. Then I bled the system. The whole job took me 20 min. I did it at work with a tranny jack and the car on my lift. Impact tools help too. There must be something with the Sport Thunderbirds that the TC parts bolt in so nice.
Right now my aod is off to become bullit proof. Then she is off to the dyno to set up my 351w swap so it can idle and not eat fuel. LOL ok well not worried about fuel milage.
Pulling it out tomorrow and getting a guy to rebuild it for me. I thought of a Lentech AOD but this guy is ging to put extra clutches in it and better lube passages and set it up better than a Lentech. Cheaper too. So I cant wait till it is done then I can go to dyno and set up my 351w to idle and not eat fuel.
