Lounge / carpenter bees
I had a huge problem with them, an old timer I knew who taught me how to paint cars said to put steel wool in the whole and they would leave. It actually worked now I only get a couple new attempts at holes per year and they get the smacking and it ends there

In the search box type in dew wipe, I believe the guy that did the write up is cougarcrager(dont hold me to the spelling) he did a very good write up with pics. It really isnt to difficult a project once you get into it its titled 83-86 weatherstrip

Well I cant get a super good picture but there is a tag on it that says 819751. I know when I was looking to do this there was a really good write up on here about doing it. I also had made a post of my own with my results and pics but since I am not on here as much anymore I cant even find that. I did go on the JC Whitney site and found a seal that uses part #JCW-819751 MFR#1369-4 and it looks identical to the profile of what I have. I do remember it needed trimmed as its to long and as stated above JC Whitney #'s seem to change constantly.

T-Bird/Cougar Parts & Cars FOR SALE / Selling extra parts

I hope the car went to a good home and we see it around sometime.  Doubt if I'll ever sell my 83 so I'll have to give your spare parts a thought. :D

The Bird went to a older gentleman in Minnesota, he is thrilled with it. I only sold it to get a new toy so as much as I didnt want to sell it I was ok with letting it go. This is the second time now I have gotten rid of a 83 T Bird to facilitate getting a Corvette

Driverguy, I tried to respond to your pm but you need to clear your inbox. Here is a pic of the underside of the lid you were asking about. As for the mirrors they are correct for 83-86 style doors and from your signature it looks like you have a 88 so I dont think they would fit correctly. You might want to check around as I would hate to sell you something only to have it turn out they wouldnt work for you. X

I also have the complete set of Ford manuals for the car.

Do you mean the end-user glovebox manuals or the Ford car shop manuals?

If the later, PM me with a shipped price.

I just added a pic so you can see what manuals they are, if interested I will need an address to figure a shipping cost

XXX    Here is a picture of the manuals I have. Also a pair of mirrors I found I had. These I bought brand new awhile back but never installed while I had the car.  This was the 1st time the mirrors came out of the box so they have dust and finger prints on them but polish right up

I also have the complete set of Ford manuals for the car. On the h/l switches they must be different years as the picture changes. These were from when I had my 86 Cougar. The one on the box is brand new and I think it is for a Lincoln as it is the same less the heat sink
