Engine Tech / Re: No start, no fuel pump prime...
The pump running with the test connector jumpered to ground tells us:
1. The eec power relay is working. (the relay you hear clicking)
2. The inertia switch is not tripped.
3.The fuel pump relay is working.
4. The fuel pump is working.
What aint working is the EEC providing the ground for the fuel pump relay.
Try starting with the test connector running the pump.
Pull codes.

I appreciate you're translation as I didn't know where to go from there. I'm traveling this week, but I'll start with testing that next weekend and update if I can find any new clues. Thanks!

Engine Tech / No start, no fuel pump prime...
Hey all! It's been a while since I've been on the forum and Its been a while since I've had my bird on the street, but am in the process of getting her back up and running.

Car (88 Sport Bird with 5.0 HO, MAF) has been sitting for years, but running and drivable. Would do regular trips around the neighborhood but noticed the ignition switch starting to act up, if I held it in place the car run but let go it would shut-off immediately. Okay, need a new ignition switch.

At the same time, I decided to install the 3g alternator I've had in a cabinet for the last 10 years. Finished the 3g install, started the car and ran though the ignition switch persisted...ok time to replace the ignition switch. Replaced the switch and now will not run. I don't hear the pump priming before the starter engages.

1. I've pulled and checked the fuel pump relay. It is functioning with a 12v source and multimeter indicating a closed circuit.

2. I've checked the inertia switch.

3. With the relay plugged-in, and the ignition on, I can trigger the pump through the test connector in the engine bay.

4. From the driver seat, I can hear a relay click in the passenger side of the dash board when twisting the key to the start position...not sure what that relay is triggering.

Ideas? How can I jumper the pump to cycle from the test connector but twisting the key won't initiate it?
Can the ignition switch fail to trigger the fuel relay? Fuse?

To be clear, it ran with the 3g installed and the old failing ignition switch. But not after I replaced the ignition switch.

Oh boy I love this car!

Thanks for looking

T-Bird/Cougar Parts & Cars FOR SALE / Spoiler and TurboCoupe seats
Generic spoiler I got from a junkyard years ago. 53" wide. Fiberglass with scratches and small chip in center. No cracks. Not the finest piece. Needs finishing.
$30.00 shipped?

TurboCoupe bucket seats. From junkyard. Passenger has power track underneath, driver has no tracks. Not perfect, driver's side is obviously worst than passenger side. Passenger looks to have some crayon on it, leather cleaner would probably get it off. Not really willing to ship, so pick up in SoCal is necessary. $50.00

Thanks!

T-Bird/Cougar Parts & Cars FOR SALE / 1987-1988 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe wheels
I have 9 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe wheels for sale. I collected them over the years as spares, but have since moved onto other wheels. They range in condition from just needing cleaning to a couple with the clear coat peeling. All have good rims, little to no curb rash, and none are bent. I will take pictures of the center caps when I find them. All the tires are bad/non-matching and will be removed before shipping, unless local pick-up. Overall, they are good candidates for a cleaning and running them the way they are(with different tires). $20.00 obo each plus shipping (which sucks, probably around 25.00 per wheels). Would be nice to have local pick-up, but make me an offer. Thanks!

General Fox T-Bird/Cougar Discussion / Cleaning out storage area...what to do with it..
I want to start off by saying I'm not trying to sell stuff in the wrong forum and I am just seeking advise from the general community on my situation...

I'm cleaning out my storage area in order to make room for newer projects/parts and I have no idea what to do with the stuff I want to get rid of. The stuff isn't exactly rare, but large and I want it all gone. Turbo Coupe seats, turbo coupe snowflake wheels, mustang turbine wheels, t-bird/cougar side skirts, wings. It is stuff I will never use again, but is there any demand for this kind of stuff? I'm in SoCal which isn't really a turbo coupe scene and shipping stuff like this would be pricey. So, should I see if I can sell it on craigslist then recycle the rest? I need the room, but I don't want to be getting rid of stuff people need. Any thoughts?

Suspension/Steering / 245/40/17 will not fit the front
Right now I'm running 245-45s on my fronts with 17x9 cobra knock-offs (don't know the backspacing), and suspension techniques lowering springs (2") without any tire rubbing. I do have the shorter lower control arms ('86 tbird) which bring the wheels inboard but I'm not sure they're necessary for the tire clearance...I did it for the stance.
