Forgot about this thread... The shaking while accelerating was the fuel filter. I had a whole tune up done with new plugs and wires, ignition coil, and control module, etc. But it's at a point where it will not stay running. Just today it was running good for 30 seconds then the engine was shaking and stalled. Now it will not start. It turns over and sounds like it's going to run but cuts off quick.
I'm selling my 1988 Thunderbird. Currently has 164,599 miles. Has a V-8 engine with a complete tune up. oil change, transmission fluid and filter changed, plus new gasket. Ignition system such as ignition coil, control module, spark plugs, and wires, new battery, new rotor. I have receipts for the parts as proof.
my 88 bird has been stumbling off and on for awhile. When ever I try to press the gas it just shakes my car. I changed the spark plugs like 3 months ago (Still couldn't get the last one thats on the passenger side).
This problem happened a few months after I changed the plugs. I was wondering if anyone may have had this problem if you can help me out.
I'm thanking of changing the spark plug wires (and may be the distributor)
It is. The clip broke off actually. My neighbor just came home and wanted to know what was wrong. She's got some rubber and plastic glue, so may be that will help.
My neighbor knocked on my door telling me my rear right tire was dead flat. Found out a small hole was on the side of the outside thread. Patching didn't work, we got a tube put in, and its still holding. Needed a new valve stem for the spare tire... Now I may need one for the front left.
After the screws, it should just pull out. It has a kind of clip on the bottom that keeps it braced. Give the stereo an assertive, yet nice, pull. It should slide out. It is the factory stereo, right?
btw, I just discovered the car radio is I guess I can say bolted in? Was able to remove the 4 star screws, but got stopped by something else. Anyone know how I can remove it?
I removed the lenses from the housings. I started with 320 grit to remove all the yellowing, and moved up to 600 wet 800 wet 1000 wet and then 1500 wet. I then machine polished them with two grits of polishing compounds, and finally a hand glaze. Came out pretty good.:D
nice... Its going to be a bitch removing the lenses... I tried to see if I can loosen them last month when I tried to clean them.
