Title: The new Fox T-Bird/Cougar Messageboard Commandments. PLEASE READ
Post by: Thunder Chicken on October 16, 2004, 07:15:53 PM
Welcome to the new Fox T-Bird/Cougar messageboard. Please take a moment to read this welcome message.

As you all know, the old messageboard was quite remarkable in that everyone got along. There were very few arguments, and even when there was one, it was settled quickly and in a friendly manner. Very seldom was a post ever deleted, locked or moved. People just plain behaved themselves. That is exactly the kind of forum we want the new one to remain. However, there are a few rules, which I hope should be common knowledge anyway:
I'm sure that all of you agree that we're not being too strict here. The important thing is to carry on in the same manner you would have in the old board. Have fun!

I couldn't agree more.
I think we had (have) one of the most civilized message boards on the 'net. I'm glad to be a part of the new system!
ROCK ON.

The people who post here are extremely well behaved, if i knew all of their mothers i would tell them all that they have good boys and girls, and yes im sure almost everyone is older than i am but it sounded funny

What is the board's take on NSFW (Not Safe For Work) material in posts?

*NSFW* This (http://"http://foxtbirdcougarforums.com/showpost.php?p=97144&postcount=10") *NSFW* post doesn't contain outright nudity...but clearly violates most work-place internet usage policies. Since I do look at the board at work once in a while ;), something like this could potentially get me (or others browsing from work) fired.

Most other boards I peruse require threads with NSFW material to be labeled as such...or give links notifying the user of NSFW material if the thread isn't labeled.

This site is great people are nice and your right not much of arguing I think I bumped heads one or two times and the argument was just dropped. Which is good, I think we all just realized we have different political views and just plain different views on life but we all have one thing in common and that’s CARS more than that its 83-88 t-birds and cougars.
The other thing I like about this forum is good information I have visited other mustang forums and theirs plenty of pages of bad info and advice that goes unchallenged from other members. Don’t want to bad mouth other forums I think the reason for it is everyone and there brother own a mustang and these boards are flooded w/them. On this site because where smaller, if there is wrong information your are corrected immediately (most of the time).

Anyway I love you guys.:grinno:

Can't bump a sticky. But it's necessary that all members read and abide by these commandments (rules).

Can't bump it, but it does put it back in the list of people who use the "show new posts" function of the forum. I've highlighted the one rule that people should pay particular attention to but seem to be ignoring lately...

Pretty easy rules to follow if you ask me. I learned very early in life politics and religion is two topics that you cannot discuss with anyone because no one ever agrees with you. It just breeds trouble.

I'm with Paul. I've been browsing it for awhile now and finally become a member, posted my pics, and made my first post earlier today.  Tons of info from very experienced people. I have lots to learn... as this is my first T-Bird. Thanks for creating such a fantastic site! Great community!

There is also an unwritten rule that if you have a Box Fox 80-82 Tbird or XR-7, you MUST post up pics.:beatyoass:

;)

Seriously though, start a thread in the "User Rides" section.

Any chance the search function can be made more advanced?  Hate to say it but it is no where near as robust as the old search function.  Also, locating the search function under the "Community" button is not intuitive.  Can it be moved out from underneath that button and have its own button next to "New Replies"?

Also, what happened to our post count?  Is the battery charge status under my avatar supposed to take place of it?

Otherwise great job and the overhaul was well worth all the efforts, great job!!

K, there is a generic search in the upper righthand corner of most themes, and that's a lot more convenient. We're doing an indexing right now of all pages...it will take awhile (maybe a day or more) but afterwards the searches should be MUCH more precise and quicker as well.

The 'search' under the Community tab is the in-depth search. I am uncertain as to the extent that it can be customized. Will try to move it out on its own, if possible.

The post count might be a theme thing. Let me dive into that.

Tweaked the layout a bit today. The full search is now on a button as requested. Right now that button isn't showing up on a mobile width so I'll try to fix that. Until/if it's fixed, we'll keep the quick search in the upper right as a backup for mobile viewing.

The post count thing...I've not found a setting to change that yet. Will keep hunting. It's a head scratcher for sure.
