Okay so I'm pretty sure I missed this by a DAY, not even. Called, left a VM on Friday. No response. I really like how it appears 100% stock on the outside. Sleeper for sure. I think the fuel system is a little excessive. That pump is $780 new!!!! LOL
Thanks to the Show Me state, a bunch of Transtar Body-Tec, Rusfre, and as-obssessive-as-the-temperature-allows washing, should last me many years. Will get a full GT40 setup when I have time, and the 3.27 axle will get a Trac-Lok.
Recently, driving around blasting the theme from Fletch with the sub cranked makes it just perfect.
At least two people at work thought it was a 1970-something and were thus blown away to see it start on its own as we walked towards it. This winter, that remote starter was amazing. Been sitting around for over a year, can't believe I didn't install it sooner...
We basically have the technology to do this and we deposit films, grow crystals where I work....but this is such a "backwards" application, it's crazy and awesome at the same time. Don't rip out that Ford cassette deck!!!
Well that's the summit of my day! Everything else will simply be "meh" in comparison.
When this car was first listed, can't remember exactly when...the asking price was $10k even. I wonder what exactly goes through the minds of these people. Must be a real bummer to realize they can't get five digit prices for these cars...
"Stay with him! Stay with him!" "Let's-go-let's-go!!" "Wait wait for the--BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH"
*maniacal laughing/screaming*
I've booted it in the black cat on a long raised on-ramp with concrete close to either side of me, cut-outs open. I could not believe how loud it was. My ears were ringing and it was awesome. This video captures the feeling of that day, perfectly.
NOW....now I want spring LOL. No, actually just a good warm spell and heavy rain to clean up the roads for a few days.
Chrome mirrors too. Strange, or maybe not? Custom added fogs...maybe the owner really just wanted a floor gear lever, console and argent turbines? Could something like this be ordered? A look at the hole in the floor might tell the tale of whether or not it was put there at Lorain...
Reminds me of the forum member up in Canada who had to sell that pristine low-mileage one to someone that promptly stuck it in the snow and salt. :( Hopefully the ask keeps it out of potential "beater" status. I think we're reaching the point where that won't happen anymore, but you just never know.
They sprung for the power antenna and illuminated entry. No keyless, manual HVAC, no moonroof. Wonder if they went for the Trac-Lok for winter driving. Claims it sat 17 years and started right up. I guess it had a better chance of that in 1998 than now, with poorly regulated gasohol.
Driver's seat is quite abused...BUT THE SEATBELT RECEIVER COVER IS PERFECT wtf!?????
At first I rolled my eyes....but you know what? That'll ruin bearings, bushings and other suspension components so quick that maybe it'll make repair shops some extra money :)
I would need a PILE. Every single day I'd be just melting tires everywhere. Without brakestands. Donuts too, I'd be looking for spots to get away with that. And wouldn't get away with it. Buh-bye driver's license.
Anyone else here totally-super-dee-duper addicted to these guys yet? If you haven't heard of it, hit up YouTube and have a bowl of popcorn ready. !!!!!!!!!!!!WARNING!!!!!!!!!!! They do have a pretty dirty sense of humor and it gets tossed in VERY randomly. But it's hysterical overall...and they do highlight some of the well-known and lesser-known nuances in every car they look at.
I'm thinking of emailing them to see if they'd wanna do any of my rides. They're from northeastern PA. I know they have made some road trips for some of the vehicles. I hope they take off, they're selling shirts now. TRACK DAY BRO
Just called the local dealership. That was the price I was told. Absolutely not. Is there any known mfr. that makes a decent piece? I mean, if everything else is literally garbage...I guess I might because I do not want an unnecessary failure and to have to rip it apart again, but that's just beyond ridiculous.
Price is steep but I'm impressed....first one I've seen in a loonnnnng time that has power ant, ATC, keyless AND moonroof. Going by Eric's info, it's got a front license plate bracket, if it also has an engine block heater and a Trac-Lok axle it would truly have every possibly option including the dealer options. Mine would be if I had an engine block heater, which I do not.
