Seat Dye

Has anyone tried dying their cloth seats? I tried using regular RIT dye but I don't see a difference. Ill post up some pics of before and after.

Also is there a difference between the scarlet reds in the mustang and thunderbirds. I'm thinking of getting a gauge pod but want it to match the rest of the interior. I found some paint and just wanna know if its the same before i get any.

That didn't say anything about cloth, just vinyl ,plastic and metal.New seat covers can be had through the Mustang resto places.I'm probably going to end up buying some for the front if I can't find any nice gray Sport seats.
