T-Bird/Cougar Parts & Cars WANTED / 5 speed conversion parts.
Getting ready to to put a 5 speed in my 88 Cougar XR7. I have most everything except for the pedal assembly , the console trim panel and the shift boot. Figured I can buy a new boot but still need the pedal assembly and console panel. Anyone have these at a reasonable price? Please pm me.

User Rides / the 30thtbird no more
Hey everyone. Been a long time since I posted. Had a little bad news and a pic to share. I had an 85 30th anniversary tbird that I built up thanks to the help from the members of this sight. I had done the full 5.0 treatment to it. Over the years, I ended up selling it to my brother who finished adding a few goodies. Well, to shorten the story, during a recent back road test and tune, it happened. During a hard launch, the fuel line fitting broke coming out of the top of the tank. Hope the pic shows up. Kenny.

Lounge / Long time no see
Hello everyone. It's been a long time since I've been around.Glad to see that the hobby is still going strong.A lot of new faces and of course the same old stanbys'.I've been out of the car thing for quite a while now.The old 30thtbird is still running right along thanks to my brother. His TT plans are on hold for a year or 2 more.He has been putting most of his extra time and money into his 70 Fairlane and using the 30th for his daily driver. He still doesn't complain about the stall and 3.73s'.I have gotten into a new hobby.Something a little cheaper than our cars.I started collecting 60's and 70's bicycles.Yep,you read that right. And yes,I ride them too.Easier and cheaper to work on,but a little bit harder finding the parts. Is anyone on here old enough to remember any of these bikes? They are still in the process of restoration,so please understand there condition. The yellow one is a 68 Sears Screamer 5-speed.Worth around $1000.00 to $1200.00 when it's done. The second one is a 70Gambles Hiawatha Twister V.Should be worth almost as much.Anyone else still have there old bikes from when they were a kid?I'm always looking for parts. It's been good saying hey to everyone and have a safe and happy holiday.Later.Kenny.

User Rides / Finally
Now that I have sold the bird to my brother,I finally get some pics up.Sorry the pics suck, but the batteries were low in my camera. Will have engine pics in the spring sometime. My brother is gonna swap in an 88 ho shortblock in place of the 94/95 in presently. He needs the forged pistons for a future TT setup.Does anyone know what to use to clean the body moldings? The dove grey moldings really show the dirt and stain rather easily.

Lounge / junkyard find
I picked these up at the junkyard today along with a factory remanufactured turbo.Came off of an 85 turbocoupe. The motorsport logo resembles the old ford motorsport logo, but don't know if it is or not.Under the motorsport logo it says manufactured by Turbo Auto. Also has a tag on the intercooler that has a p/n and says Turbo Auto.Does anyone have any info to share.By the way,i paid less than $32.00 for everything.

Lounge / the bug has bitten again!
While recently regretting selling the bird to my bro,the bug has bitten again.Don't particularly want to mod the mk7 any time soon,so i decided to work on my 85 ltd wagon.(fox chasis).I just bought an 86 mustang gt (5-speed)from a friend. It's got high miles, but it's a virgin(never been modded)I'll probably put the new engine(65k miles,2000 mountaineer)that i had put together last summer for the bird in it along with the 5 speed. The bigger front brakes and the 8.8 with either 3.27's or 3.73's will find it's way also.Still debating on sefi or carb. The carb would definetly be easier but i'm kinda leaning toward the f.i.I plan on leaving the stock dash and bench seat in it if possible.I already have another friend who wants to buy the remains of the stang from me.Does anyone on here have access to an 85 ltd evtm?

Electrical Tech / problems with factory stereo
Hey guys, got a problem with the stereo in the mk.Had the same problem with an 86 mk i once had,so it sounds like a common problem. It seems that when i hit a bump, turn a curve,or just the fact that the song playing hits a good beat, the radio cuts out for 15 to 30 seconds then comes back on.It crackles and pops alot. What could be causing a problem like this?I'm lost.Don't know where to start.
Oops, wrong area.Someone help with that too please.
