Engine Swapping / Cringe ...please don't flame ls swap coming soon
I have a 6.0L LQ4 in my 1984 Thunderbird.  Do it. You won't regret it.  I am using a team Z K member and coil over kit.  I have a couple threads here about it.  I don't update it much here but have the full build on Facebook

Hasn't got out yet.  Still a bit of work left to do.

Yes it is a GM auto.  700R4 right now.  I know it isn't going to love long behind the 6.0L.  But it was dirt cheap so I don't care lol.  I am on the fence about building it or just throwing a 4L80E in it.  Planning to throw a 7875 turbo on this and shooting for 700whp.  So the 4L80 is my best bet.

Suspension/Steering / Torque boxes
I fully welded mine. It far from a bandaid. It is a solution.  They tear out because they are only tack welded from the factory.  With them fully welded you won't rip one out.  My last bird was launching at high RPMs with slicks on the juice in ny mild built 5.0 and it never hurt them.

That being said, my husband is in school now taking nursing, and when he's out and working in a good paying job I am going to track down my four-eye Bird with vent windows. I will almost certainly have to travel for it, but I'm OK with that. And then I will do stupid things like spend loads of money on it :hick:

All these years on here, I thought you were a guy?
