Referals?

I noticed in the user profile there is 'Referals: #' in the forum info box, what exactly is it and what does it mean? I searched around (even in one of the vbulletin forums) and couldnt find anything about it. I noticed I have one and would like to know if I should feel special about it or not :p Thanks!

I have a referral too, though I've never used the "special" link.

I searched the FAQ for referals and it came up with nothing lol the odd part is I never knew about that link to pass out, I just give people the regular address!
