My pic would not be very exciting...the car is in the garage with a car cover on it.  Hopefully I can take it to the big carshow that is part of my hometowns annual fall festival this weekend.

Your car is coming along very nicely!  Are you still running the stock rear control arms?  I like the stance on your car.

Uummmm....I drove it into the garage on Monday at about 4pm.....and here is what it looked like by 9pm.

The SO 5.0L is on the ground supported by the engine hoist.  The HO 5.0L is on the stand awaiting an accessory drive swap then in it will go.  If I didn't have friends coming in on Thursday....well, today I guess, and staying for a few days I would probably have it together by Friday.

I was just thinking the same thing, the stance is perfect.  I may put some TC springs in my rear.

Were they used or new ones?

Also... why is "Cougarman".......... driving a "Thunderbird" ???

I love this thread.  But most cars are half torn apart!  LOL!!!!

Westie, I would love to know more details about your build.  The car looks great!
ic, just get the final wiring done and fire that thing up!  You have such patience danielson.
Dan B.,  Your tbird platform looks really good for the engine swap.  Many hands make light work...
flylear,  You are my inspiration to keep going on my build.
347Thunder, I'm in awe of your bodywork skills and how good your purpose-built car is turning out.

What a great forum!

I'll post up a pic of mine. I've been driving it all week trying to install my Sequential Turn Signal kit. I get off work, feed the kids, mess with the car for an hour then back inside to play before bedtime. It needs a serious cleaning. Monday it gets the hood and new scoops repainted. For now I have a video from tonight.

Here is where mine stands right now...  Rolling on the turbines because they had better tires than the snowflakes.  I still have to trim the A/C compressor bracket so the hood will close.

Also to adjust the transmission cable and finish the exhaust (as I just have temporary lers that dump before the axle.  Very LOUD.

Looks a bit sad, hasn't been on the road since Nov '09... I did roast the tires about a month ago out in front of the house but that's the first it'd been out of the driveway since it was taken off the road... Yes the 5.0 with head gasket blown between cyl 3 & 4 is still in it...

Outwardly, mine looks the same, but under the hood is a different story...after 20 months I finally got it back, with duals, headers, GT40 heads, different cam, pistons, injectors, and Explorer intake. And it finally idles!!!

Hell yeah anything with no rust = MINT far as I'm concerned lol.

Sadly this is exactly what it has looked like for months LOL. Friend's dad who will be doing the frame rails has a good friend that works for Keystone (LKQ) and the guy found a yard somewhere in FL with a mint front subframe, now we're just waiting to hear the name of the yard so I can set it up. Wheels turn slow these days, I guess LKQ is buying up everything they can find as far as yards and the company is getting turned upside down. But maybe soon I'll be able to STOP saying "soon he'll come and fix the subframe" haha.

JR patched the roof. That sun roof was a pain and leaked. I put a shim under it one day and drove off. The glass shattered into a thousand pieces. So JR patched it closed. I hate SUN ROOFS WITH A PASSION JR used lead to seal the dam thing. Very little bondo. Basically JR is the body guy in the family not me. I just pay the BILLS. HA HA!!

i thought about putting my stock capri scoop on the black tc, but i think i'd have to do some sheet metal work to get the innercooler scoops to match up right.. i always liked the capri scoops better than the stang scoops

Thanks. The color is dessert sand and I've only seen one other here in Ontario. The only major color difference was that the other one had a red pinstripe instead of the black that came on mine.

Title: So what does your fox look like today!!!!!
Post by: 88 Blackbird 5.0 on October 24, 2011, 01:05:35 PM
Thanks Stangman.  Yea, V8's do look really good in these cars.  I had some custom solid mounts made up, because my Mac longtube primaries are so close to the k-memeber on the passenger side and the steering shaft on the driver's side.  The collector s are also close enough to the floor pan to warrant concern.  An added benefit of the solid mounts is the fact that the engine is now low enough in the bay to leave 3/4" of clearance between the driver's side hood scoop and the upper A/C compressor bracket.  Now I can install a nice hood liner without worrying about having enough room for it.  Since this car is a toy, I won't mind it if the solid mounts cause more vibrations than stock.  Some guys who run them claim that they didn't experience much in the way of extra vibrations.  I'll just wait and see about that though.

Yeah, i think those wheels fit these cars well, but the rear cap wont fit unless I put spacers on it, which i probably wont do.

Ill probably end up going with bullitts. They are the most overused wheel out there, but they also fit our cars well, and dont run caps over the lugs. Also, Im having a problem with rubbing on my front drivers side. Not while turning, just going over a bump. I may have to hammer on the inside of the fender. my car isnt even lowered. It does sit lower on the drivers side, both front and rear, but there is a ton of room out back. Thinking between a little BFH action, and maybe using s197 wheels on the front(dont they have more backspacing?) Ill be in the clear. 17*10.5 and 315/35's in the back of course.

The bolts on the valve covers were a little loose and he tightened them up. We couldn't find anything else wrong with it. Got a few tiny rust spots to fix up. The upholstery and the leather on the steering wheel are absolutely pristine. He said folks have brought in cars five years old which were in worse shape than my ThunderKitty.

Only thing that would have made that more freaky is if you were running 122 mph when the pic was taken (well, kph since the dash maxes out at 85 mph).

I feel like I've missed cool mileage marks 1000 Times. I'll see them coming, but always forget until about 2 miles after. I just happened to glance at that after I pulled in. Good enough.

Now if I catch 123,456.7 ill be impressed.

since my bird passed away last year, I dont have a bird to post, but here is the closest thing I have.
my 89 LSC, I have been slowly tweaking the body.  hence the coat of many colors. 200,000+ miles and still going strong.
the girls old ride, 89 bill blass, parked in my soon to be brother in laws backyard, we retired her this year.  just needed more than I was willing to give.
still foxy but not big, my 84.5 Predator GT302 Cobra.  still waiting on bumper extenders in order to finish the front end.
The girls new ride, 88 Lx vert and soon to be the new resting place of my old 88 turbocoupe's heart and sole.
and lastly my side project.  built from spare parts, and costing a grand total of $0 so far.

thats how all my fox's look right now.

both of us walked away.  i was under 30, i'm guessing the closing speed was around 50 mph.  at impact, The Bird was under full brake and trying to steer left, so i got to deflect some of it and looks like with my brake and her on power i got under her bumper.  i came to rest with front wheels into the curb on oncoming traffic side of street.

i've got some pain in knees, back, chest, neck, shoulders, collarbone...  pretty lucky overall.  Thank you Ford!

These are great cars.  i got hit with her 4000 lb hammer.  drivers door took little extra force to open.  when on flatbed and i was unloading my stuff, passenger would only open about 8", but i could have forced it if i had to.  there was a LOT of energy, my hydraulic floorjack in trunk tried to come through the trunkwell bulkhead.  something dented my fire extinguisher and broke the mount.

DO NOT TRY THIS YOURSELF!!!

Really. I guess that would make sense wouldn't it, was in Patchogue. He said he bought it from his friend who had to offload it quick, get rid of the toys kinda thing. HE bought it from the guy that originally built it. I guess he lived in Queens or something, it was armed to the teeth with an integrated hood lock/alarm, hood sensor and trunk sensor.

Ironically it's set up a lot like yours mechanically. I don't remember what gears you have, it's got 3.73s, a Tremec 3550 and of course, Trick Flow kit.

I have two header panels and a hood. I'll only use one header panel though.LOL. Once those are on, bodywork will be easy. Not a lot of major stuff. I'm seriously thinking about going with a shade of blue like the last Bird. Not sure. I have a lot of serious thinking to do before I choose a color.

Actually, when I swap the u-joints, I may polish the driveshaft. Seriously. No real reason other than "Because I can". LOL. Spoilers..well...I started grabbing them for a few weeks in case I wanted one for the Sport (before I ever started body work), and decided against them. Now, they are rafter dwellers. I haven't had them down in two or three years.

The hail storm came with no warning. By the time we knew what was happening, it was too late. Over $5000 worth of damage to the Maxima (it's been repaired). Once the Sport is back in top form, all major work done (detailing, paint, eats recovered), I'll have her appraised, then may go to full coverage insurance. That'll depend on what the agency states the cost will be, and if it's reasonable. Won't know til  the car is done.

I like something different, that I won't see on other Birds, and stands out from the crowd without looking stupid. I'll probably keep the green I have. It's different, and this shade is something I haven't seen on any cars around. yes, some shades are close, but not like mine. Which is cool. BUT, who knows what I'll decide when the time comes?

Thanks. More than likely, I will use the same color again. First, Gayle picked it out. Second, it's known that the Sport is THAT color. Third, I NEVER have to worry about running across another like it. Fourth, it still has a factory feel about it....although it's certainly not.

Adding pearl to your paint is similar to what you old farts :poke: (I kid! :D) would call adding metal flake to your paint. He doesn't mean adding the actual color of "pearl" to your paint. :D

IMHO it is always a very subtle addition to any paint job! :D
Title: So what does your fox look like today!!!!!
Post by: Shadow on March 15, 2012, 04:06:02 PM
^ LOL old farts hahah

adding pearl to the clear will liven the color up a bit in the sunlight.. it's basically a colored metal flake that you really only see in direct light (mostly sunlight).. it really won't change your color at all, but it'll add an extra bit of 'pizazz'

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pearlescent_coating

that's the only wikipedia page i could really find.. pay no mind to the rice pic on the page, that's actually 'chameleon' paint or a sh*tload of pearl lol typical pearl doesn't show nearly that much change.. it's usually just 1 little spot, that's in direct sunlight.. i think i'm failing at a proper explanation lol

As far as the blue, I'm still not sure. The green is different, and it wasn't used on a factory car. I'll figure it out once the body work is done.

That's what I was thinking. It looks like the door jamb itself is pulled back a little. Sarjxxx, are you going to do the dent repair, or have it done?

I don't know yet. I will probably cut out the sections and then have a shop fix it up.

nope. haven't done anything since I put the sunroof in. Been literally spending more time at work than at home 7 days a week. Haven't really had time. But I do need to install a new turn signal switch, oh yeah and figure out why one of my LED strips quit working :giggle::rollin::giggle:

The strip probably quit working because it's on strike. it needs you to install more lights. LOL.LOL. When you turn on the lights, your car should look like the sun.

Got my 'bird sitting over at my uncle's place.  Later today we are going to start working on swapping the LCA's for non adjustable's, putting in the Moog springs, and changing the speedo drive gear.  I will also be measuring the driveshaft so I can get a aluminum one ordered.

How I spent the Easter weekend. The Cougar was running pretty bad, and I knew the timing chain was pretty loose, and I could hear it rub on the cover sometimes so I dove into it at noon on Saturday, and didn't get it back together until 10:30 that night. It had the nylon coated timing gear that was cracking and falling apart. How long did Ford use those? I didn't know they were still using them in 1986. What a dumbass design.

Anyhow, I fired it up, and it was running worse than ever. It wouldn't even idle. It was acting like it had a massive vacuum leak, but I couldn't spot one anywhere. The next day I spent about 3 hours chasing down the problem, and finally narrowed it down to either the ignition module or the MAP sensor. Well, it turned out to be the MAP sensor. After I put a new one on, it seems to be running just fine thankfully.

Thanks man. I had 17's on the car prior to these but always felt they were too small, so I got them in 18's. And to fill the rears I put pretty big spacers on the rears, I think 1.25". Stretched tires on these wheels give it a totally different look IMO.

Here's a before and after pic from this past saturday (8-11-12), The wheels in the before pic have been on it for 20 years so putting the Cobra R's on it is a big deal. I think I might like it better with the chrome ones but these will grow on me I'm sure. I also think I need to get spacers for the rear wheels.

I don't mind the Cobra R's. For being 20yrs old, those chromies don't look bad
Title: So what does your fox look like today!!!!!
Post by: 1Bad88tbird on August 16, 2012, 12:26:43 PM
The ones in the first pic are actually polished aluminum. They do shine like chrome. I think that's why I think I'd like the chrome Cobra R's better. But I'm sure I'll get used to these. After looking at it for 20 years with the same wheels it's a big change.

Oh, well they still look good for their age. Ya I agree, I think the Chrome R's would look better.
I bet it is a big change.

Perhaps you would like the wheels better if you removed the chrome fender moldings? The shiny moldings flowed with the old wheels better.

I agree they went better with the other rims but I still think match pretty good with the chrome in the molding. That and the other wheels shining so much is why it's such a big change for me.

Here's my heap. My wife's grandpa bought this car brand new back in 83. I ended up with it a few years ago, and we've been working on turning it into a drag car. Please don't beat me with a bat, but we're transplanting a 406 sbc in it because I already have all the parts for it from when I was building a Nova. Also planning a 4 link and tubbed, and 14x32 slick. But for now, here's the current progress.

:giggle: the main reason is I have NO ford parts at all. We mostly build chevy motors here, that's why I was building a Nova. But then this car came along and it meant a lot to my wife's family so I saved it from going to the s yard.

We did however poke around in the garage and found a set of tubular A-arms, coil overs and a 5 lug front set up, so this car is now going to be a full tube chassis car with a 4 link.

That definitely sucks, my question us why is the passenger side of the Thunderbirds cursed? I had a repaint of my car a year ago and am already seeing about a dozen or more paint chips on that side, while the drivers is fine. And originally i did a repaint because the passenger side of the car was wrecked.

I think I'd have an 8 year old with a sore butt.  It wouldn't be just about the car door, though that is certainly an important factor, but of more importance is the potential of falling out of the car due to negligence and being permanently folded, spindled and mutilated. Doors can be fixed or replaced, a child's life can't.

A good PDR guy should be able to get that back out to near perfect, without much of a problem. Be thankful it wasen't worse than what it was. I've seen that happen to people before while going down the road, even had to repair the aftermath, and it usually ends much worse. 90% of the time it was because their kid didn't shut the door all the way. Good Luck with the repair!

Title: So what does your fox look like today!!!!!
Post by: ramair351 on October 16, 2012, 11:50:29 AM
once you remove the foil out of the molding, its very easy to work with. use some adhesion promoter on the molding, then use good 3m 2 sided tape. the molding gets a little flimsy when the foil is gone, so two people is handy when you stick it back on to get it straight. i happen to use my teenage son
Title: So what does your fox look like today!!!!!
Post by: 1Bad88tbird on October 16, 2012, 12:10:06 PM
That adhesion promoter is wicked stuff! I put a rear window spoiler on my Fusion and they sent some to put on the glass first and it practically ate into the glass. How did you remove the molding? I'm sure you didn't do it like I do on my parts cars. I use an old serated bread knife. I'm not worried about the paint and the knife is flexable so it does a good job.

Post by: ramair351 on October 16, 2012, 12:25:27 PM
to remove, we put a big body shop grade infrared heat lamp on the door for a few minutes, it made everything pretty supple. then used a wide putty knife to peel the molding off

Just slip a putty knife under one edge and work it off enough to grab it. Then just pull it off. Use them muscles :hick:. When removing the aluminum backing I found it's best to peel up a corner and then lock it in a Vice Grip and pull. You can pull the whole aluminum strip off in one piece like that.

Where did you purchase them at? Have you had any previous experience with them? They look good on your T-Bird.

I have seen the name on offroad racing trucks but don't know much about the tires. I am trying to decide what to put on my 10 hole wheels. I am going to go with 225/60s all the way around. I was thinking about getting BFG Radial T/As. I can get T/As for $125 each mounted and balanced locally. The 295/50 fills out the wheel well nice.

If they had 275/50/15 I would of got them these are a little too big, but hey say bigger is better, lol

That's what they say. They are big tires. It is interesting that one tire manufacturer will have a 295/50 but not a 275/50. Another manufacturer will sell a 275/50 but not a 295/50. BFG sells a 245/60 were most tire manufacturers don't. You wonder what the method to there madness is.

I know they have 5 different drag radials in the 275/50 but no street tires seems to me it's a popular size

That's it!  I'm putting my stock springs back in the rear so I can go to a larger tire!  Running 245/60's now and they rub when someone is setting in the back seat.
That is a super sweet ride.  Did you just leave off the side molding from the front bumper to the rear bumper?

Have you thought about swapping your axles with mustang axles (they are 3/4" shorter).I am running p255/60r15 in the rear w/4.500 backspacing.

Hey Dan I kept my drum brakes when we put the TC rear in. We had to cut some of the mounts off from the rear disc set up but then just put the drums back on. I have axles from a 91 Mustang Gt in it now. Even with the 7.5 axles in it and being lowerd my tirse were rubbing the inner fenders. But with the mustang axles it was better. Now I'm back to stock height.

Copy that, but being in New Jersey the choices/prices aren't what they are elsewhere.  My agent is trying to get me a policy with an agreed-upon-value in case something happens to it, no mileage limit but it can't be a DD/commuter, but I'm an old retired f--- so that doesn't matter.

Yeah turns out the car was 15 minutes away from me. Original owner from WI of all places. He was 75 and kept it in the garage 25 years. Working on removing all his stuff... Added pony wheels this weekend and a 99 escort keyless I bought from a member here.

Wheels are off. Ponys(I'm going to ,make a 'bird centercap). I hate the ground effects (in the rear anyway), but my wife likes it and it's her DD. I.m desperately seeking 7.5 trac loc unit (since FMS dscontinued grrrr) and 3.27 or 3.45 gear. He also branded everything with T-bird schwag(stickers, patches, buttons everywhere). Hand-painted striping all over it. Also we are painting the wing body color.

Personally I like the body kit and wing. I actually have a kit I'm going to have put on mine when it gets redone. The ponies do look good. I also like the headlight covers. That's the beauty of it though, we all have our own tastes and do our cars the way we like them to be for ourselves.

I agree about pulling the extra stuff off (especially the 5.0 emblems on the front bumper).  I'm personally not a fan of body kits or wings so those would have to go too.

Looks like a very nice car though.  You can tell the guy took very good care of it.  Nice buy!

The only redeeming part of that build is the 70/71 Torino shaker scoop on the hood.

use to have chickens tom,, then time marched on now i have none.
the four of us had a helava time eating all the eggs 5 hens produced.

~~did you know,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, you can take an egg, rub its outside with mineral oil,, put it into an egg container and store them for months in a closet or an empty shelf in a cool area,,,?

i tried it.. six months later the egg was very good.

supposedly you can store them much longer like that if you frequent your mineral oil coatings.
i did notice the yoke developed a kinda tough jacket,, or whatever but it cooked right down

Well the Thunderbird is sitting under a cover in the garage waiting for spring along with the '12 Mustang. My Mark VII (hey it's a fox so why not) is not so lucky. It and my '11 Focus have to sit outside and endure winter driving to keep the other two cars nice. Hopefully next year the Mark VII will get to sit out the winter as well. It was 2* outside when I took these pictures. That's 16* warmer than it was at that time last night (it was -14*:()

You know I don't remember what brand it is :hick:. I bought it at Pep Boys about 5 years ago. It's an all weather cover that breaths and it's flannel lined. I know it was one of the more expensive ones. I think it cost about $100 or so.

We used to have chickens. We kept them in a pen, as we live in the woods, literally.

Now the pen did have some pine trees in along with the chickens as I used the trees to hold up the fence.

We had them about two years when something started taking off their heads. Every morning there would be one chicken with its head missing, and since I live in Rocky Hollow, and NOT Sleepy Hollow, I figure it wasn't the "headless chicken" taking their heads off.

Any idea's? I would guess a Possum, as they are every where around here, here being the SE, US.

Thanks!  I kinda miss the silver '95 Cobra R's every once in awhile but I think the 93 Cobra's look better on our cars.  Plus I really like how the chrome looks.  I usually wash my car in the spring and then just dust it and spray wax the bugs off the nose for the majority of the season.  I didn't put a cover on it this past winter and it had all sorts of crud on it!

I think the reason the 93 Cobra wheels look better is the center caps that cover the lug nuts. Because our cars have 4 lug wheels the covered centers just look better to me.

I'm amazed at how much dust gets on a car wile it sits in a garage. I covered the Thunderbird this winter but not the Mustang. Both sat in a closed garage for 5 months. The Thunderbird was clean under the cover but the Mustang had all sorts of dust on it. It's crazy.

My car in front of its soon-to-be new "home".  Building a 32'x48'x14' pole barn w/10' lean-to.  I ran a water line out there and will have a floor drain too.  Gonna have a loft in the far side for storing parts, etc.  I have a project '78 F-250 and '73 parts truck I'm going to create one truck out of and this will be my wrenchin' spot!

This is one of the three we have.  The other two are located off property all tucked in waiting for warmer weather.  I'm actually jealous of all of you out there that get to drive your cars year round.    Can't do that in the Midwest if you want them to stay nice.

Thank you. I'm sure that's the color. It was kind of painted? when I bought it back in 03 after my wife totaled my 87 Sport. It's a combination of the 87 Sport and 87 Turbo Coupe. Had a body shop fix it. Still not perfect but it will do for the time being.

Very nice. Love the stance. What size tires are those? What offset do you have on the rear rims? Do the tires rub? I was just down at Discount Tire yesterday to ask them about getting wider tires for the rear of mine. Couldn't help me. Said there were too many modifications.

I can't remember exact offset, they have discontinued the 17x10 4 lug version.  245 front, 275 rears.  The front rubbed because I lowered the car but rolling the fenders solved that problem.

Thanks for the information.
What I am thinking is to have 2in added to the width of the rear rims on the inside. I like the rims I have and the way the car looks. Rims are 5 lug.
I have 245/45/17 Goodyear Eagle F1's on all 4 corners. Car handles great as long as the tires are warm. I would like wider tires on the rear for traction.
How do you "roll" the fender lip without damaging the fender?

Using a heat gun and keep it moving on the outside of the fender, remove the wheel and bolt a fender roller to the wheel studs and roll the fender lip flush.  Have to be careful not to chip the paint.  You can also use a baseball bat using the tire as leverage with the heat gun.

The new way to do it now is to stick magazines or a phone book on the tires then jack the wheel up into it.

I have a heat gun- I'd be afraid of torching the paint. Where can you get a fender roller? I'm a rookie when it comes to paint and body.

As long as you keep the heat gun moving (back and forth across the lip) you'll be okay.  Amazon should have fender rollers, try searching 4x108 fender roller on Google as well.

Decided to give a shot at restoring some of my headlight lenses. The outers mainly, but did a half job on the inners too. The headlights I purchased brand new from ford around 10 years ago but the car has hardly been driven so they are still like new.

Thought of some of the quick fixes and different kits, but decided to do the thorough sand and clearcoat process. Spent some decent money for very fine sandpapers and got a UV resistant clearcoat. I am very happy with the results. Like anything, if you put the time into something and don't rush it you will end up with decent results. However my lack of attention to where I left the outers to dry left me running back outside to move them out of direct sunlight.... It was too late and I now have some spider webbing on them. That being said they still turned out awesome, so I will revisit them another day to re-sand and clear.

My process was wetsanding, the rough sand down with 600grit, again with 1200, then finish with 2000 grit. I did a circular motion and before moving to a higher count sandpaper I did finishing horizontal (side to side) passes to help with the clear to stick on the lenses. I used a water bottle to keep wetting the sandpaper and lens to clear the debris. I would do about 1/3 of the lens, soak it all down, keep doing to 2/3, soak it all again, finish the surface and soak it all. Then do the horizontal sanding, then soak that. Cloth dry, and move on to a higher count doing the exact same wetting process. When I sprayed I did very light layers of clear at a time, 4 or 5 times total.. To try and prevent running or beading. I just used aerosol can stuff and was careful to keep an appropriate distance from the lens to apply. I let about 10 minutes to dry before throwing another layer on.

Is that thing snow rated?

It's snow rated enough. It's the same grade of cover I had on the old big carport at the old place, and I would get 2-3 years out of those before needing to replace them. They have upgraded(heavier) covers for it, but that's where things start to get expensive. If it looks like we're going to see a lot of snow, I can throw another tarp over it. I'm not worried about the frame itself. It's never going to have much snow sitting on it anyway, as it'll all slide off.

I got the car out a couple times last year, but it really needs a couple things done, that I really shouldn't put off any longer.

As always, that's a ed nice car, Chuck. Glad you still have it.

As for me, hardly have any time to do anything. Still have the Stang coupe, and now a Flareside truck. Dunno why I picked the truck up, it's like 3rd down on the list of shiznit that needs attention. First off is an engine swap in two Explorers. One's a 4.0 SOHC that decided the timing chain (pass side) needed to break, so I'm doing a V8 swap sometime in the next 50 years, and my daily driver explorer also needs a fresher engine. At least it's a 5.0 already, but burns through about 3 qts oil/week.

The rest of it's pretty solid despite it's mileage. I'm second owner. I doubt I could find another '98 in as nice of a shape as this one for less than twice what I paid. I gave 1750 bucks for it at an auction.

An older couple owned it, he died, she sold off their property and moved to town.

We also have a Lexus. You want to talk about a nice car. No soul like a Fox though. I've been eyeing a V8 87 'Bird, locally. Guy wants 3K for it, which is fine, it's in good shape, but I can't part with that kind of $ right now.

Unless I sell a Mustang.

And thanks be to barrett jackson for making coupes and Foxes suddenly go up in value LOL

So I drug it out of the weeds and into the garage last Monday.  Embarrassing mess.

X

Already dropped the tank and located the mouse chewed nylon fuel line.

My wife thinks I'm cleaning it up to sell.  After putting my projects on hold for years and doing the homeowner, marriage and kids part of life I started slipping some of me back into life.  My Bronco II sat in this very spot for 3 1/2 years during this, in the past couple months I started hitting it hard and now its on the road and its the Cougars turn.

Edit* - F me its been nearly two years since my last post!
