I just skimmed over your post, by the sounds of it, the cop didn't see shiznit.  Now depending on how you handled your encounter with the cop, he can't prove that.  Now as far as the noise ticket is concerned, I'm not sure.  There's a saying: if the tree's poisoned, so is the fruit.  Your lawyer should help a lot.

Large Hadron Collider.  It's basically a huge machine in a tunnel 16.5mi long, 100 meters under ground.  They hope to recreate the conditions just after the big bang this May. 

The safety concerns are that the micro black holes created during the process might not decay as rapid as they hope and it might consume the earth from within.

most especially not a ~20yo endlink with unknown history. ALWAYS use some form of positive location on the lower control arm(jack, jack stand, etc.) or a spring compressor, to contain the pressure of the spring.
