T-Bird/Cougar Parts & Cars FOR SALE / '86 tc
I'm losing my storage space in a month and she's gotta go.  I've had this car for the past 40k (has 140k) miles and it's been great.  In the last 10k ive replaced:
rack and pinion, tie rod ends
a arms with new ball joints
front rotors/bearings/pads/lines
heater core (motorcraft)
window motors
tune up (all belts incl timing, cap rotor wires

I'm sure im forgetting a lot.  The car doesn't have much rust for being an iowa car.  The tires are shot,  it has ones good enough to move it around the block right now (and I have a set of really nice snowflakes that go with it). It runs great, smokes a little at start up.  the exhaust is gone from the cat back.  Also, a tire blew out on me on the highway and damaged the front drivers side fender and fender liner.  If you threw some good tires on it and the exhaust it'd make a great car.

I know this ad is worthless without pics, those will be up tonight.

First $650 gets it.
Car is in Clear Lake iowa.

Lounge / Lhc
Large Hadron Collider.  It's basically a huge machine in a tunnel 16.5mi long, 100 meters under ground.  They hope to recreate the conditions just after the big bang this May.

The safety concerns are that the micro black holes created during the process might not decay as rapid as they hope and it might consume the earth from within.

Interesting stuff

Site Suggestions / Post count
See a bunch of changes happening lately, how about getting rid of the post counts too?  I'm really interested to see if it makes a difference at all.

Opinions?

Engine Tech / Thread tape
Well I found where my '86 TC was leaking oil, kind of.  It was a slow stream comming from the oil distribution block, so it's one of three places.

I pulled off the turbo oil line and didn't notice anything wierd, but when I pulled the sending unit I noticed it wasn't very tight and it had thread tape on it (I pulled a spare and it did not).

So...would it be a bad idea to use thread tape?

And- has anyone ever heard of the turbo oil line going bad?

Drivetrain Tech / Slave cylinder ?'s
Well it turns out my slave on my '88 TC decided to take a dump.  I'm kinda stranded right now at school, but I have someone coming down to move me out and bring tools.

What is all required tool wise?  I realize i have to disconnect the hose and bleed it.  I can't get under the car right now to see for myself so any input is appreciated.

Lounge / The beast is back
So I'm getting my '86 TC ready to take back to school.  Give it a bath, $48 worth of 92 octane.  I go to the convenience store and when I come back out I see my car puking oil from the bottom.

So I decided to take the '88 out of its year long hibernation and take some pictures.

It didn't lose oil pressure right until It made it back to my garage.

First time this thing has left the garage for about a year.

Thought it was a good idea to swap out the racing "slicks"

A short clip after I bolted the ATR exhaust back on and got it to idle, kinda

Where this one will rest until summer.
