Ok, so my heater core sprang a leak. I printed off Eric's instructions and now that the core is changed and all back together there are a couple problems. The car won't start with the key but will start from the solenoid. Then driving down the road I noticed that the speedo is not registering. It just displays the odometer and a 0 for the speed. I never noticed if the odomenter is increasing! So, what did I eff up???
This car has been on our local buy and sell site for a while now. It looks good in the pictures and with 118000 KM on a 29 year old car, it may have been taken pretty good care of.
I've started rebuilding the base model and I'm looking for the shifter cable and the bracket that goes on the transmission. I mistakenly sold the trans with the bracket still on it and the cable froze up after it came off the car. I busted it trying to free it up.
I got the gear to do the HO conversion on "the Base". I got a couple diffferent cams. One from an HO and another from an Explorer. Can I use the Explorer cam with out changing out the pistons?
I was advertizing the 5.0L and trans, from the old sport I sped, for $300.00. A guy I know who races mustangs showed up to look at it and we started talking. He said he might have a couple sets of e7 heads and the rest of the stuff needed to do the HO conversion on the base t-bird. The only thing is he doesn't think he has the computer. He does have the mass air meter if I wanted to go that way.
I told him, depending on what he does have, I might do a straight up trade. So, like the title says, is it a good deal?
I went to the TARGA car show on Saturday and snapped a few pictures. Then on Sunday I went to Flatrock and took some short 8-12 sec videos of the prolog stage. I was kind of disapointed. I've driven that road faster then these guys.
This morning there was an accident, caused by black ice, on the road that I usually take to work. I would have been on the road at that time other than I took the Ranger in for an oil change and took a different route to work.
