Winter Projects?

So what do you all have going on with your cars over the winter, any cool projects?

Was hoping to find a set of TRX wheels and tires for my car for next summer, slim pickings out there.
Im working on adding an electric fan to free up some power from the motor. These new ones seem pretty quality, wont require an alternator upgrade, have adjustable set points and can support 2 fans, but im using a factory 4cyl mustang single fan so it "looks" like factory instead of some cobbled together chinese stuff.
Going to replace all the a/c stuff, replace the seals on the spare hr980 compressor i have and get my a/c charged and working properly. Im going a different route than normal as far as refrigerant goes.
Also going to at some point install the temp gauge i picked up for it.
Might do some other restoration related stuff.

The plan for the Tbird is to swap out the T5 with a trans that doesn't have pooched syncros and swap out the clutch disc for something a little more driveable. The current one requires a bit of clutch slip to get moving smoothly when in traffic.

The main project is to get the 3.7/6R80 into the LTD wagon.

Replace the IHI turbo with one that doesn't make squealing noises (newly developed). Also install the FMIC I have on shelf waiting. This will be after the holidays probably closer to March.

I was having back problems this past year so I didn't do much to the car.

Have a lot of wheels, surely I have at least one or two sets of TRX. Give me a few days, maybe next weekend at the most, I'll see what I have and if it is all there, I'll send you some pics.

Honestly at this point, I'd just like to send this stuff to folks who will need it, so shipping plus a few coins in my pocket are good enough...not looking to get rich, just don't want to toss it all in some dumpster.

As for a winter project...gonna try to either throw some parts at my 98 Exploder, or else find a solid 2.0 bottom end for my Focus, or a wrecked runner with the Zetec and do a driveline conversion. Car has the Split port AKA valve seat dropper.

Rest of the car is really nice and has new struts, brakes, tires, and bearings. All done by me, then the fothermucker decided that the valve seat and the #2 piston should get real close and personal.

No longer have the 06 Explorer, the Expedition, or much of my sanity.

If I could find the right deal for a Tbird or Cougar, I'd get one to stash away for the day that I can put some money and work into one to enjoy.

Just about as broke as can be right now. Is what it is....there's light at the end of the tunnel.

try to finally wrap up my 87 coug that i started backin 17' and migrate all that threads info back into its related pics here on this platform since they all got omitted during some sort of transitoin.

Are they the tbird/cougar style trx wheels?
LMR sells those new mustang style ones in a standard size with standard(common size) tires but im not looking for that style rim.

I looked but couldn't find 'em. Fairly sure I had some out there. Doubt they'd get swiped when there's much more valuable wheels and other stuff LOL.

I have some stuff at the other farm...it is possible they're there.

Regards to your question...I don't know until I see em. I CAn tell you though, they're the real deal from way back in the day, not the new ones made now by LMR or whatnot.

I'll do a little digging around this weekend, see if I can come up with something for ya.

I DO have a really nice set of ten holes with tires that I have no need for...

Dont worry about it, im not in any rush for this. Im still trying to put money aside for the tires since that is going to run around 2000 bucks itself.
The only other rims i was considering are the phone dials since i like them.

Since its snowing now and im not really working on the car or driving in it my winter plans are to scan some of the ford and tbird literature i have piled up for whoever it might help or might be interested in it.

roll the Karman Ghia back into the garage and wrap up component replacement behind the dash, wire up and get it running so i can move on to paint.. I restored the car migrating from the "INSIDE" then to the outside.

You never want to do a rear window replacement on a Ghia or any window with an "H" shaped rubber gasket surround EVER!!!

It is a work of art using a long wire and lubrication to install. Problem is the only people who know about this are either dead or on thier way so i had no supervision or guidance as to how to do it. the wife and i struggled but we got it.

Sounds like the "rope" trick would've worked too. The windows on the Volvo 240s are held in the same way.

A piece of string/rope into the valley of the outside of the gasket, with both ends accessible from the inside of the car, usually on the bottom. Place the window in it's location from the outside, resting on the lower section of the gasket. Have one person hold it in place, while the other works inside to pull the rope out of the gasket, which pulls it over the sheetmetal and into place.
