Elec. Fan Wires September 25, 2008, 12:29:51 AM Taurus fan from Vinnie. It has 3 wires, yellow, green with yellow stripe, and black. Im guessing the black is the ground, but which one is the high side. I'm also using a Hayden fan contoller, so I'm guessing I should wire the high side up. Any reason not to? Quote Selected
Elec. Fan Wires Reply #1 – September 25, 2008, 12:53:37 AM look at the connector real good it might have a (-) somewhere on it, the markviii fan I just bought has one on the connector. As far as the high and low you could just connect it to a battery and see which side is louder I guess.I would say to hook up to the low side so the fan would last longer. If you need more cfm you could always change to the high side. The fan hardly runs while driving. Only at stop lights when the air flow is gone is when you need it, and when a/c is on too... Elec. Fan Wires Reply #9 – September 26, 2008, 12:43:26 AM be brave. My gut feeling is the black is the common ground to both the yellow and the Green/yellow.The fan i have also had three wires so i got a couple of aligator clip jumpers. Connected my black to the bat -. then a hooked up my other jumper to the POS of the batt.Next i quickly touched the remaining two wires one at a time and established which ones were high / low.too easythis also gives you a chance to determine its rotation and if it throws air the correct direction.
