We picked up a little 84 T bird and 1st thing that came to mine is this car is as plain as a car can get. No power anything. Talking roll up Window, No power locks, seats, trunk, seats, Hell only thing that was power is the mirrors lol.
But being so plain we had to name the car Plain Jane.
I haven't been around much due to other things in life. But i still have my BB T Bird and clean it off and took it out today. All in all time has not taken much of a toll on the car. Yes i still need to do the bodywork.
Hi everyone, I know i have been away for way to long. But what can i say i have been way to busy off line. But i just picked up a 84 5L T bird to add to the list as daily driver.
SO here is my $500 beater.
Body is great
Inside is very clean
And my baby my 85 BB460 T bird. She is showing her age and needs a little TLC
My drive way is starting to look like a Thunder meet.
This car started out life as a 5L car then I got my hands on it. 351 and a G Force T5 were in the car before it was even in my name. Few years later it now has 460 C6 9inch with ladder bars.
Well i have 85 t bird and some one had bumped and killed one of my tail lights. This would not bother me as finding parts always works out well for me.
But i miss the looks of my cougar tail lights and i like the TC tail lights much better. So since i have a TC trunk 2 sets of lights and a plasma cutter i'm thinking of giving my 85 T the TC lights to match the TC hood. How will a 4 eyes look with TC tails ?
If anyone knows if anyone has done this please let me know. If not its my idea LOL.
Well i have been to busy with other things to deal with the car. My builder told me last week i would have motor. I just got new clutch for it and have been doing some of little things with car to get it ready for the new motor.
As soon as i have the 85 up and running i will start on the 87TC
Well things just keep showing up at my house. Now i have a beat up 85 S10 4X4.
Now i still like GM and I pondered doing a S10 along time ago. So now i have one as a winter beater and come next spring I will eather have fun killing this for kicks and a fun vid. Or i will swap in a SB400 with a SuperT10 and good transfer case and go talon hunting.
I rather just do some jumps and cram and kill it just because i got the dam thing free.
I been pondering a idea for some time on how to make a bolt in ladder bar for my T bird.
This is a short Ladder Bar that bolts were stock lower arm goes with new bracket welds to rearend but still leaves stock lower mount the same so i can go back to stock lower arm with no probs.
Spring is in the way but a bolt on coil over spring to rear of rear end and have no probs then with that. Now to keep rear end centered i will still use upper arms in stock location and if bind becomes to much of a prob i will try making a trinagle link with a slider that bolts into stock upper boxs and rear end brackets.
Worse thing that can happens is i wast 50 bucks in mettle and some time.
Well pulled topend of the motor apart again. Checked rockers and bearings then checked roller lifters and still nothing wrong. Pulled heads off and still eveything looks good now signs of anything touching or rubbing. Looks like i have to pull bottom end out fo the car and keep digging till i find what was knocking in there.
Had help from my son and buddy of mine that stoped by.
