Passenger side light taken from a parts car awhile ago. It has one noticeable scratch that is easily buffed out. No cracks or any other non-superficial scratches. Looking to get 30 bucks out of it.
The car shudders at higher speeds, but is not relative to speed itself. It will shake like crazy sometimes, but fine a little while later. It's not due to road conditions, either. It will still rattle on almost all road surfaces. The tires are in good shape, all properly inflated and plenty of tread left. I'm going to get them balanced sometime this weeks to see if that helps. It doesn't cost that much and they need to be rotated anyway. It is a little worse on deceleration while going down hills (brake is not being pressed). I'm just kind of searching for ideas and some items to inspect.
I figured labor day weekend would be a good time to get around to sping the smog pump. It hasn't been hooked up for quite some time and my cats are non existent, so might as well get it off the pulley system, right? I give most of the credit to jcassity for all the information taken from what I like to call the "master thread". The next step will be deleting the EGR and with any luck it will run as it should. The simple mods I've made so far have done a fair amount to wake up the old girl.
Mods so far: V8 throttle body swap - aftermarket electric fan w/ thermostatic relay - cat converters removed - engine rebuilt and bored .030 over - emission system removed (smog pump and all)- a/c removed. Average 0-60 time is 11.5-12 seconds and fuel economy has been 17 city/ 28 highway. 3.8 V6 AOD w/ 3.27 gears.
Does anyone else love the late model LS's? Built on the same platform as the new thunderbird (which I didn't really care for), it's much more attractive than the vintage tbird look. I will have to look into one of these for my next car. Sample pic from someone's cardomain:
Went out to my car and noticed that it's now broken. I wish the a$$hole would have at least left a note!! The assembly is intact, just need the clear lens... Looks like Vinnie and I are in the same boat.
I went tonight in the hopes that a late show on a Sunday night might not sell out. WRONG! Almost every showing has been sold out since it's midnight showing around here. A very solid movie. This is probably the darkest comic book gone movie I've seen. Check it out if you haven't already!
With increasing gas expense, everyone is concerned and/or interested in who is getting what for mileage. For the sake of organization, could we just keep it down to one thread? Maybe include some fuel treatment success stories or ideas to keep the mileage up... I was thinking maybe a consolidated sticky perhaps? I'm pretty sure I've seen at least three threads in recent history come up.
I've been browsing the car classifieds there for quite some time and just realized there are personal ads up there as well... I had some time to kill and figured, eh why not browse a few, it's been awhile since I've had a date. Has anyone else noticed how it's almost impossible to find a decent 20-25 y/o woman who doesn't have kids? Maybe it's the just the kind of chick who posts personal ads? Even while browsing the bar scene I've found it's pretty difficult to find someone without kids (or at the very least, without major emotional baggage). Any theories on the topic?
Saw gigantour on Friday night and it was amazing. The lineup was Job for a Cowboy, Children of Bodom, In Flames, and Megadeth. I left for megadeth because, well... I hate Dave Mustaine (sp?). Other than that it's a great show if you can get out and see it before the tour is over. Has anyone else checked it out? I caught this cool picture of the In Flames lead singer in mid-headbang.
Title says it all... My tranny takes a little persuasion to get going before it's warmed up. I usually rev it up quickly to get the tranny to engage and then take off as normal, but it won't ease off the line without rapping on it first to get it to slip into gear. It only does it for the first couple of tries away from a stoplight/sign. Otherwise it's fine. Fluid is full, doesn't smell burned. Ideas?
Ok, I know the basics of setting my timing using timing marks and a light. The only problem i have at this point is knowing where to line up the timing marks on the crank pulley. I don't have any sort of marker on the engine. Is there something missing? Is there something for me to line the marks up with?
I am missing one of the nuts for my exhaust manifold to the y-pipe. It sure would be nice to fix the exhaust leak. I COULD crawl under it and take one off, but it would be so much easier if someone knew right off hand what size it is.
