302 to a 351

I know that the 351 should just fit right in there right? BUT. There is always a but. The 351 is coming out of a 67 Stang and its not EFI. I want to build it up first anyway, but would it be worth building it EFI and swappin, or taking out the 302 rebuilding it and throwing it back in?

If you're going to rebuilid either engine, I'd go for the 351...  It may cost more in the long run to convert to efi, though.

Well the 351 would be the better motor.
Now seeing how u have a 67 351 u might want to sell that motor.
Older motors are harder to find and to the right person looking for a older 351.
Or trade the 351 u have for a newer roller 351 to rebuild.

As for going EFI i would rather go carb then a stock EFI.

I may be comming out of a '67 Stang, but there is no chance it's a '67 engine. The first 351s were installed in the '69 models...

this is ironic,, i had this same conversation today on the 69 cougar with a guy here at work.  He insisted there's no way the 351w appeared until 72.

hate to say this guys, but the 351w came out in the ford/mercury line up in 69. if one was pulled from a 67 its because someone else put it there.just like TurboCoupe50 said.

Alright I know the 351 is better but what about all of the computer  you put up with on EFI. Thats still there. Do you just leave it or do you have to tear it all out. Im looking for another 302. And the 351 is a friends hes selling it to me.
