Misc Tech / Re: taking out windshield
I have most of the glass up, when I get it completley out, I'll have to heat the sealer up, and se it away, the windshield is totally shattered.
my main prob is that trim across the top, I can get it loose, and don't wanna tear it up either, I thought it may have been screwed on from inside, but havn't seen any screws to it yet, but then, It was cold today, didn't spend too much time outside with it...

Misc Tech / taking out windshield
anybody ever done this before?
mine was uhhhh, ummm broken (more like completley friggin shattered  !)
and Im trying to take it out myself to keep the installer from bitching too much...
I can seem to get the trim off of the top though, I've got all the rest of it, and most of the glass lifted up around the sides and bottom.
And what would be a decent price for a windshield, installed in an '88 LX 'Bird?
-many thanks-

T-Bird/Cougar Parts & Cars WANTED / 88 Bird parts needed:
I'm finally getting around to putting my 88 LX back on the road, but need some parts that are hard to find here in the 'yards...

tail lights-the complete assemblies
header panel, and headlights
and if anybody has and dark grey interior parts, I need:
headliner, all the plastics pieces, and matching back seat (back and bottom)

My car is red, but some vandals got to it one night, and I've put in a dash and leather seats out of an 85 XR7 that got wrecked, so I need the rest of the same color interior to finish it...
If any body can help, many thanks.

Lounge / Re: Why does this guy want so much?
I thought that Cobra Jets and Super Cobra Jets were a 428 engine...?
I'd guess that those Boss 429's are one of the rarest big-block engines ever...
Kar Kraft, an outsource company, actually modified the 69 and 70 Boss Mustangs for the huge engine.
They had to widen the front track of the car, which improved the handling of the car, coincidentally.
Also, the battery was installed in the trunk for more under-the-hood room.

Lounge / Re: bus engine research
yep, sure did, but they only came in Ford trucks over 1 ton though, these engines, when complete, weigh well over a thousand pounds, not somethin you'd want to put in a car or half-ton truck, lol

Engine Swapping / Re: 347 0r 351
Quote from: CougarCoupe88
yeah but your forgetting one thing a 347 will walk away from a 351 all day long and most 351's are dogs  mostly just extra weight unless you redo the whole thing a cam .30 over and new heads up the comp. and then you need the headers intakes oil pan and im not sure but dont the acc. brakets need to be diff. and when it's all said and done you probably spend some more cash and have a 347 that runs like a son of a .  with small changes . like some gt40's and a cam and intake bc stock stuff still sucks but you will have an ass load of tourqe that the 351 cant touch. when it's all said and done.

the hardest thing about the 347 is the block work . you could also do a 342 a 347 stroker kit that isnt .30 over. it's been done.

i myself was thinking of the 347 but think it may be much for the stang but would have been great in the cougar.

Just remember, that any trick you can do to a 5.0 based engine, also applies to a 5.8-I saw a 427 Windsor that was just sick, no 347 in the land would touch it, it was about a 15,000 dollar engine  :dunno:  :screwy:
I would stick to a 331, or a bit bigger, with a blower, and a decent shot of nitrous...'course, that 427 stroker kit is mostly aluminum-so the weight is offset-it's you call

them there X-brand grain truck motors weren't "big-block" 350's,
I think they were a 366...
If it was a Ford engine in that bus, it may be a 401, 477, or 534...
here's a link for more on these monster Ford engines

LOL, nice car
I made a road trip to Denver wednesday night, saw a bad-ass red Mustang, had the stripe(s) down it, couldn't take much of a look, for the  traffic, though!
