I wish I knew when, and how long they were produced.I'll bet there are less of the BBK's in existance than the FMS speedo.

Are you sure it isnt Brother's performance rather than BBK ??? Back in the day, they offered this type of service. Basically took 85 mph (90 mph) speedometers, doubled the internals, added a new face and ended up at 180 mph. Not sure they did it for t-birds, but they did Mustangs for sure.

Hi Bob, I didn't realize you where here as well. Are you going to make that lil' wagon as radical as the Capri? That thing is just awsome!

Thanks! the Pinto will be all out (still 2.3), the Capri is just a little street car ;)

Do you know if the mag. came out yet that covered it? I'm not sure which Mustang mag it was but they took pics. of my bird in the show and I'm really hoping it get in.

I'm not sure, I talked with the guy from 5.0 and Super Fords for a while , and know MM&FF was there. The mags with columbus coverage have been coming out but I've not seen anything yet.

Hey bob do you still visit the forum?? Im in Blairsville at wyotech, and figure ill see you around when it gets warm again at the track!

I stop in here every now and then, not as much as I used to. I must have been subscribed to this thread to get the notification ;)

Good to hear you are in the area. For sure give me a yell when warm weather rolls around. I'm at the track most every TnT wether I run or just hang out. I've cut way back on the local race days as I've been trying to get to as many NMRA, UMTR, and various Ford races as I can make. Still get out there to race maybe two weekends a month anyway :D

Here is a "pictre of a picture" from Columbus....

And a snip from a video ...

The Capri is getting "done" so I picked up another project ...

Yes, Quaker City.

If you all do get something set up at QCR I would drag my Capri out for the weekend. I just raced the UMTR race there last weekend.

T-Bird/Cougar Parts & Cars FOR SALE / Lots of misc parts (mostly Turbo related)
I have a bunch of misc parts I would like to move out to make room for more  Everything price OBO, let me know if you would like better pics of anything.

Hurst Tee shifter handle with button. Threads are for factory ford shifter. I used this on my car as a line lock control. Includes handle and lock nut. $30.00

Aftermarket (Turbonetics) dual port waste actuator with adjustable arm plus laser cut mounting bracket for T4 compressor. Never used, was bolted up to mock up and I'm going a different direction. $80.00

Aftermarket (Precision) single port waste gate actuator with adjustable arm. This one has a welded bracket set up for a T3 compressor housing. This will not work with the 2.3 standard manifold / turbo configuration as is (see third picture), would need modified, or great for custom set up. $50.00

Stock (Garrett) wastegate actuator for Ford / Garrett T3 turbo. This one still has a good heat shield (usually rotted off). $40.00 (I also have three others)

Stock T3 outlet elbow with internal wastegate puck (swing arm). This one has the studs removed for use of through bolts. I change mine to this way so I can drop the exhaust without getting under the car, plus it seals better this way (downpipe not included) This one was on my car until I installed the ATR big outlet this summer. $30.00

E6 turbo manifold for 2.3. When removed, two of the studs came out, one nut came off, and one stud broke (although it's long enough to get out with heat). Use this one to port while you are still driving your car  $40.00

IRCM (Intergrated Relay Control Module) and BAP from 87/88 TC. This is the module that houses the EEC relay, both fan relays, and fuel pump relay those TC's. Removed working from my car. $20.00

4 cylinder turbo fan from the early fox cars (early TC, SVO, Capri turbo GT turbo, etc) $20.00 (shipping will likely stink on this)

Finned turbo outlet pipe for non IC car (like the turbo coupe outley but has cooling fins, usually on Merkurs) $20.00

87/88 TC valvecovers. Both are the center dip style, on "stock" one was painted red but peeling. $20.00 each

87/88 TC intercoolers. Two avaialble $20.00 each

87/88 TC door hinges (both hinges, both sides. $20.00 or will seperate as needed.

87/88 TC mirror assemblies. At least two DS and two PS $10.00 each

87/88 2.3 stock throttle bodies. Like 5 avaialble, take your pick $10.00

Small bin that sits in the 87/88 TC console $5.00

87/88 TC snowflake centercaps. Many available, $5.00 each.

I also have lots of little misc TC parts around that either need to move or be thrown out. Make me an offer on this stuff, you might be suprised as it needs to go. Shipping extra on most parts, or make your offer "shipped".

Edit - Links did not work. Pictures of most everything are in this album, let me know what you are interested in and I will get you direct links, better pictures, or whatever you might want.

How do you like that cam Bob?

The cam is interesting.

Off boost, on the street, it GREAT. pulls like mad, builds boost fast, is simply a hoot to drive. All good, love it ovver the Ranger Roller, and I was pretty devoted to that cam. It was all gains, no negatives except it'sjust a wisker softer down low.

Now, I didnt pick up anything with it, either ET or MPH at the track. In the cams defense, it surely is running into my maxed out stock turbine. To put that in perspective, I went from a stoc cast T3 outles elbow to a full on ATR 3" outlet (after the cam swap) and picked up exactly nothing there too. Basically both SHOULD have shown SOME improvment, and neither did. Like I said, it's the turbone being maxed out.

That said, I would still do the swap again, the off boost, partial boost kick is fun as heck. It's just at the track where I'm at full boost for the entire pass there is a choke in the way. I think with a milder combo, less boost, or someone with a bigger turboone, it would be KILLER. We wil lsee, I dont think a new turbo is in the budget this summer, but over the winter we go bigger :D

Lounge / Hey all
Friday night is what they call "bad boys / bad girls". It's kind of a glorifed test and tune, but they have a band and a bikini contest, start late and run a little later.

Saturday is a show, they have supercharged warriors and door jams, $20.00 to get in, but you can RACE in trophy class for the same amount.

I hope to see you down here again, maybe we can get Frank out to race too!

Lounge / Hey all
I havent been aroundhere much lately, thought I would give a little update for those that know me. I've been bracket racing my 2.3 Capri all summer for points, been doing okay, going rounds, hanging in the top 5 all season (3rd right now).

I really havent done a lot to "make more power" this year, it's all mostly been aimed at getting the chassis stuff sorted and ready for the next round of power. The car is stil la stock shortblock / stock T3 combo with my big valve head, ported E6, and I did add one of BoPorts 1.5 cams. Car is basically running 12.50's-12.60's, slow down to a low 12.70 in terrbile heat, picks up to high 12.40's in decent air. I cut the boost back a bit this year to 23 psi, and will tay there until we get into some good fall air and points end.

The big change for me recently was installing a Baseline Suspension set-up, changing over to Hoosier Quick Time Pro tires (dot), and went to a 4.10 gear. So enough of the words, on to some pictures :D

These pics are video captures from video's taken with a digi cam, so the qulaity is a little weak.........

Required burn out picture from earlier in the season (before QTP's)

I'm pretty happy with the car for what it is :D

Electrical Tech / Anybody ever use Summit's ignition boxes?
Quote from: kendoo130;230885
Based on the pic above-I guess it is a Mallory box-with that said are Mallory boxes any good? Thanks for the above info.

I have run the Mallory 685 in my old TC and been in the Capri since it came together. I fried one when I had an alternator go dead short on me. Witrhout the box, I have to cut boost by 4 psi to keep it lit. I have run 25 PSI with the box with no issue. Two step is excellent. I also use the single stage time retard to play around (nothing as good as two step RPM yet). The box will also take a 3 bar map sensor to do proportibuttstuff boost retard, but I have not had a need for that.

I really like the box for the price, wish it was sealed a little better, but it's bee ngreat for me.

That said, Id I need another box, I might be inclined to move to the MSD-6-2 becasue it looks more selaed and compact. I need to see one live before I would but that.

Past Cat Jam Threads / Shawns CatJam adventure.
Based on your description of the antics leading up to this, and the constant knock you report, I would put my money on a burnt piston.

That is exactly what mine did when it looked like this........

I heard 6" behind the front u-joint. It this correct?

I think it's worded "within" 6" of the front u-joint, meaning no more than. If you get / use one of the ones that has been discussed, it's a little more obviuos where the flats are on the floor pan that it bolts too.
