ford's naming system

Does anyone else besides me find it funny that Ford decided to take their most squarest looking vehicle, and name it FLEX....

...and yet take the curvy sleek looking one and call it EDGE?

This has bugged me ever since they came out. I just don't get it :hick:

The Flex is kinda cool because it reminds me of all the old station wagons that were driving around when I was a kid.  The edge...no me likey.  I'm not a fan of all these so-called "SUV"'s that look like freakin' mini-vans.

This is an SUV:
'88 'bird, 10.9:1 306 w/TFS top end, forged rods/pistons, T-5 swap & bunch of other stuff, 1-family owned, had it since ‘98, 5.0tbrd88 on Instagram and YouTube

The "moron -o" had me wondering. Although, that's not Ford.

I mean compared to the FLEX, which came out pretty much at the same time. It just seems to me like the names of those two vehicles should be reversed.

if you ask me, the flex is more 'sleek.' i'd never in my life own 1, but i'd love to build 1 for someone.. new coyote 5.0, 6 speed, debadged and lowered.. that'd be a real head turner and unsuspecting import killer.. i think i need to talk 1 of my customers into buying 1, so i can have my way with it.. LMAO

there is a system, naming them a>z over time.  Kinda like how hurricanes are named over time trying not to repeat.

Ford's rather good at keeping all of the car names starting with "F" (Fusion, Five-Hundred, Flex, Focus, Fiesta, aside from the Mustang & Taurus) & SUV names starting with "E" (Escape, Explorer, Edge)

nope, before they were called SUV's, they were called wagons, which stuck with the bronco until 96 for some reason.. proof -
