Engine Tech / Fast EFI and ram air......
I have been thinking..... I have the GT40 intake, X3Z Cobra computer, 70mm throttle body, 24# injectors and so on......It's a good set up. Now here's the thing..

I drive my car probably 10 miles a day 90% of the time. I have thought many times about my hood scoops actually being functional. Which led me to think about the Fast EFI setup. I'm simply THINKING about the swap, topping it off with a '71 Mustang style ram air induction air cleaner that would seal to the hood. Something different, and functional. I may or may not lose a few horsepower over what I have, and either way, not a big deal to me at this point as I don't race the car any more, and I like it's self learning capabilities. I've got more studying to do on this swap. I know I can sell my current EFI parts to get some of my funds back. Well, except for the GT-40 upper, I'm keeping that. The lower is T-Moss ported, plus the other parts. I kind of like the idea of opening the hood, and seeing the big blue air cleaner with the rubber seal on top and fabbing a panel to mount under the hood for the air cleaner to seal up to. Painted to match the hood of course and carefully done.

Any opinions on this swap?

Drivetrain Tech / Speedo gear choices....
I recently installed a disc rear and went from 3.55 to 3.73 gears. I also installed the recommended 21 tooth reddish colored speedo gear. The car is reading about 7 to 8 mph too fast. The rear tires are Nitto NT555 G2's, 275-40-17. Any idea which gear for a more accurate speedo reading?

User Rides / Goodbye rear drums and tiny front brakes.....
I finally got the brakes on and the rear in. 3.73 rear, drums to discs, TC front brakes, Fox Stang booster, SN-95 master cylinder, and TC proportioning valve.













New tires next. I have had mine for three years, and they are about done. The fronts were getting rounded on the outer edges due to bad ball joints and bad struts. I installed new struts and ball joints, new tie rod ends as well. The rack is still fine, and not very old.

Now, I want a new set of Thunderbird air shocks, then I'm pulling the Chuck W shock mounts and going back to stock. I want the longer shocks.

Suspension/Steering / Drum to disc parking brake cable questions....
Looking for people who have done the TC disc rear abd parking brake cable swap..........

I did the TC suspension swap last Sunday. I finally got around to installing the parking brake cables yesterday after work. How do you adjust them?

The parking brake pedal was down, and when I pulled the release, id didn't move, but came up easily by hand. I've never messed with parking brake cables in my life. Looking for education on it.

Suspension/Steering / Turbo Coupe brake swap question....
I installed all of the suspension basically from a Turbo Coupe on to the Sport. I am trying to figure out how to run the parking brake cables. Does anyone have any wqell lit detailed pics of how they mount? They are connected at the calipers in the rear and that's it. I also don't have the lever assembly that mounts under the floor around the driver seat area. I posted for that in the wanted section.

T-Bird/Cougar Parts & Cars WANTED / 87/88 Turbo Coupe parking brake pieces......
I did the Turbo Coupe suspension swap (brakes, diff, etc) to the SPort. While trying to install the parking brake cables, it appears I'm missing some pieces. Apparently there.s a pivoting lever that mounts to the bottom of the car under the seat area of the floor that fits on a post that sticks down. I need the lever and associated hardware for it.  It appears to be at a junction where the cables come together. I'm learning this. Never messed with it before.

Suspension/Steering / Needing brake line adapters.....
I'm going to be installing Turbo Coupe brakes on my Sport. The front brake lines (hoses) need adapters to fit the chassis lines. I saw that they are 1/4" to 3/16" adapters. I can't find any at all here in town. Is there a link to them or a part number to order them or have them ordered?

Drivetrain Tech / Master cylinder choices....
Going to do the Turbo Coupe brakes and rear end swap. Which master cylinder should I use? 93 Cobra MC, or a 94/95 Mustang MC? Or does it matter? The reason I ask is because I got the 3 to 2 conversion lines ordered, and was looking at the MC's, and thought either one would work. Although the 94/95 MC is a bit cheaper, and with a slightly larger bore, 1 inch vs 1 1.16 in.

Drivetrain Tech / Proportioning valve.....
When I swap the suspension, going to TC rear with discs and front TC brakes, if I use the TC proportioning valve (I read they can be used), I noticed a difference between t and the one on the Sport. The TC valve has a sensor plug on it, mine doesn't. Do I install it and just ignore that sensor plug? I read on Cool Cats that the TC valve can be used, and I have one, so thought that it would be the way to go.

Drivetrain Tech / Disc rear conversion.......
I read the Cool Cats article on this. I made a list of small parts I may need.....

Swapping the rear into a 5.0 car (88 Sport), can some of you give me a simple basic summary of the swap from your own experience? Looking for tips and hints. Thanks
