Drivetrain Tech / Driveline vibration
Does anyone have any ride quality comments after removing all of the wonderful factory vibration dampening components?

I’d like to toss all of that extra weight and add an aluminum driveshaft to my 83 TC but don’t want to find out there is a vibration issue only solved by hanging dampers under the car. (Obviously there must be some problem otherwise Ford wouldn’t have added weight like that).

Misc Tech / Engine Damper
I've searched around but didn't find any previous threads regarding engine dampers. What????  Does everyone just take them off and throw them away? ;)

Is there a source for replacements?

Do the 87-88 2.3L cars use them also? (I know the Mustang SVO uses them.)

They must serve some purpose…..

The plastic bezel is in very nice shape with ashtray door springs and hinges and rivets intact.

The aluminum decal plate is not perfect as someone pulled it off to get the mirror switch out. I cleaned it up and straightened it out somewhat but it will still need a little work.  Should be fine with a new decal installed.

Part number on the bezel is E7SB-63044E50-AWA
Part number on the ashtray door is E5SB-63048A04-AWB

$20 plus shipping.

T-Bird/Cougar Parts & Cars FOR SALE / 85-86 Turbo Coupe
I have a lead on a 85 or 86 Turbo Coupe. White w/ red interior. Suppose to be a Texas car and rust free. Dash area is torn apart but all parts are said to be in the trunk. Not running at the moment but was before the dash 'work' started.

The whole car is available for around $600. If no one is interested in buying the car whole, I may consider buying it and parting it if it ends up to look more like a parts car.

If you are interested in any way, car or parts, please let me know.

I'll try to get some more details/pics ASAP and post them here.

Body/Appearance/Interior / Color Sanding
I’ve searched the forums but didn’t find answer….

Anyone have a proven ‘recipe’ for color sanding a non-clear coat car. (83 Bright Red TC)  It’s not orange peel I’m trying to get rid of but dirt, tiny scratches, oxidation, etc from not being waxed in years.  I got brave and cleaned up a small area by wet sanding with 1500, followed by a generic polishing compound, then a pure wax and it came up nice.  I’ve heard there are some 3M products that work real well. I plan on wet sanding (1500-2000??), buying a buffer, masking the high spots and buffing (what speed) after the wet sand. Any product recommendations?

I got a lead on a 2.3L turbo in a barn.

Thought I'd share with you what I found!
1983 TC, red/tan, lots of options. Leather interior, vent windows, cornering lights, premium sound, A/C, tilt wheel, TRX wheels, tinted glass, speed control, power drivers seat, and a few more goodies topping out at $15520.00.
Still had the original window sticker in the glove box.

Hoping it would be low mileage since it was last driven in 1994 then parked but it has 135,000 miles.

Body is straight and rust free and the rest is very original.

It was cool to be part of one of those 'car in the barn' stories!
