T-Bird/Cougar Parts & Cars WANTED / Re: 1983-86 Thunderbird Header Panel
Thanks for letting me know about that site, but fortunately I found some middle of no-where junkyard about an hour from me that had 8 or thunderbirds. None of them in amazing condition, but I got a header panel, and the headlight bezels for $100. The header panel needs a little work, but much better than paying what some people are asking for those header panels.

T-Bird/Cougar Parts & Cars WANTED / 1983-86 Thunderbird Header Panel
Looking for a header panel for my 86 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe, along with the drivers side headlight bezel and blinker/corner light. Had a truck back into my Tbird and having a hard time finding the header panel. I'm located GR area Michigan. Picture shows what I'll need replacing. Thanks!

Drivetrain Tech / Rear End Noises
Nothing I can tell that is wrong with the rear end itself, I'm thinking it has to be bushings or suspension, something along those lines. It'll be a while before I can figure that stuff out, this winter at some point. Thanks for all the help

Yeah I will have to see, I'm interested to see what I find when I pop that cover off

Drivetrain Tech / Rear End Noises
I had a known rear end shop do mine, but sounds like I'm going to be taking the cover off and checking it out myself. I've heard off shops not having things properly tightened or torqued... I guess that's what I'm checking next. Thanks for the help! I'll let you know if it works out.

Drivetrain Tech / Rear End Noises
I had the driveshaft and the rearend both gone through and fixed by a driveline shop, with new ujoints and I can only assume they tightened the ring gear lol, I guess last resort I can check over that. But yeah I've done those both now and can't see anything obviously wrong, It just seems like the rearend is moving up and down more than it's supposed to, so I guess the only thing I can think of would be bushings/control arms. Thanks for the replies

Drivetrain Tech / Rear End Noises
It is a 3.73 gear, but it isn't those types of noises it sounds like. It's just when I start going forward or backward, just a clunk really. But the u joints are both new.

I haven't super checked the bushings, they are the same as before the swap and ran fine, so I didn't think that was the issue. I'll take it apart and look closer soon though. But I jacked up the diff and then torqued them, any different than with it just sitting? And would that cause that much of a problem? Thanks for the responses though

Drivetrain Tech / Rear End Noises
My rearend area in my 86 TC is making clunking noises on accel and deccel from a stop, and sometimes bumps. I don't think it is the actual rear end. I put it up and ran it and it seems the like rearend is moving a lot, the front of it seems to move up and down a lot with power and all. Im not sure what's up, I recently replaced the rear end with an 8.8, and used the same stock control arms, and they were fine before I took my 7.5 out, so Im hesitant thinking thats the problem but that is all I can think off.

Any input would be appreciated! Thanks

Misc Tech / 1986 Thunderbird Prop Valve
Nope, two. Two fittings that come off the master and go into the prop valve. And those are the only two on the master

My brake pedal is very soft now and all, so I am guessing I need a better master cylinder. What one do I get to replace the stock 1986 Thunderbird TC master cylinder?

Drivetrain Tech / 8.8 Rearend making noises.
I didn't pull the carrier out and I have no clue on the miles. But if I am doing new side gears and spider gears, would it be around the same cost to just take the rearend to a driveline shop? I just want it to be done right and last a while. But you think it definitely is side and spider gears? What ones do you recommend?
