1986 Talladega Tbird...?

is this just a hopped up 'bird or actually a rare car as stated in the ad?

Maybe it was a local dealer option. No matter how hard I try, I just CAN'T like the body kits.

Really? If I lived where it didn't snow, or my bird wasn't my dd, It'd have had a set.

jpc, I couldn't agree more. And now that my TC is no longer my DD, the bodykit WILL be coming out of the shed and get put on.
88 TC 5speed, 168000+ miles, stock 2.3T long block, ported RFE6 exhaust, Evergreen T3 running 15#'s.
Up next: FMIC, fresh air intake, ported intakes, ported big valve head.

I was never a NASCAR fan and therefore am not sure of this, but this quote from that ad raised my eyebrow:

Now, I'm sure a NASCAR fan will correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't it a 1987 or 1988 Bird (I think it was '88) that BE used to set that speed record? And if so, wouldn't that mean the car featured in that ad was built in antition of the record (which was achieved by a different body style) (I'm being sarcastic here)?

Regardless, nice Bird for nice price. Even if it doesn't have a 5.0 HO as advertised...

And anyone can slap on an HO intake OR plaque...a surefire way to tell if it is an HO is by the injectors, firing order, or even the 3 digit numeral on the EEC itself.

Still, it's a nice car and not a bad price, if it's rust free.
