Door speaker wires help?Fixed 7/12/12 Thanks

Got me some speakers to put in the doors of my 87 T-bird. So today while I was working on a 3G 130 alt upgrade in the same 87 with 3.8L. I had my son take off the door panels getting ready to put the speakers in the doors. The car has never had door speakers. Found the wires with the correct wire colors but nothing when I test them with the new speakers other speakers. The dash speakers both work and they have the double wiring just like the door speaker wiring does. This is not a premium sound car. Just asking what am I missing?

Thanks

I have found that some cat/birds have the wires disconnected behind the kick panels. My 85 is the same. I dropped a set of speakers in, and they don't play. I assume they are disconnected like my 83's were. My 87 wasn't disconnected, but it was a premium sound.

Just pop off the kick panel cover, and there should be the connector in there. I can't remember what it looks like, or what to do, but it should be self explanatory when you see it :)

Thanks I will check that. I was thinking maybe something like another speaker plug in behind the radio but when I looked and stuck my hand back there I didn't feel/see any.

Thanks for the help

I was back out there this morning. Pulled the passenger side kick panel found the plug coming from the door and the one at the car side. Plugged it in and sounds are now coming from the passenger side door speaker. Went around to do the same to the driver side pulled the kick panel and found some plugs but not the right plugs. So did a lil more looking and it appears that they must be up behind the E-brake foot pedal so gonna have fun diggin into that side.

Thanks again for the help

P.S. I should have grabbed a pic but the plug from the door is just a two wire plug with matching color wires as the door speaker. The plug on the car side is a double plug that both the door and dash speakers plug into. This plug also has matching colored wire for the side you are working on.
