Title: Since this section seems to be dead, list your system
Post by: Thunder Chicken on October 25, 2004, 09:25:34 PM
Thought I'd make the first post in this section. What have you got for entertainment in your car? Mine is a fairly mild (read cheap) setup, a veritable Heinz-57:

Kenwood KDC-MP425 CD/MP3 deck
Pioneer Premier 6X8 rear, 5.25" front speakers
Alpine 100-watt X 4-channel amp
JL Audio 12" sub & box
PPI 400-watt mono amp

It won't win any SPL competitions, but it sounds ed good at painful volumes!

Pioneer TS-A6870R 6x8" rears.
Blaupunkt Overdrive 3.5" fronts.

Pioneer DEH-P6500
Pioneer REV 6x8 250watt Rear Deck speakers
Infinity Reference 3 1/2 120watt Front Dash speakers
Rio-Volt Portable MP3-CD Player connected through the pioneer rca adapter.

Enough bass to tricks lil' kiddies into thinking I have sub's and the clarity without distortion at high volumes that I desire  !!!

Pioneer DEH P6400
Pyle (of shiznit) 3.5"s in the front,  Pioneer 2-way 6x8's in the rear.
Cheap 200W Optimus amp with horrible wiring connected to a Pioneer 400W 12" in a way-too-big bandpass box.

Stupid Previous owner...anyway.

The Grand Marquis, on the other hand, has a new Kenwood KDC-MP5025 deck awaiting installation (I'm using it in the Bird till I get the Marquis back on the road).  More audio mods to follow in that car.

Factory stock AM/FM radio with STEREO! :hick:  & an alpine deck with some "vintage" pioneer 6x9"s in rear, 6.5" rounds under the front seats :p and a couple 1.5" tweeters. Ever drive down the highway in a car with plastic covering a window? if you turn it right up it sounds like that :rollin: but at mid volume it sounds good :slap:

88 XR-7

Deck: Deh-p750mp(premier 6v pre-out)
Speakers: Infinity Kappa 3 1/2 dash, Kappa 6 1/2 door, Kappa 6x9 rear
Wires: all Knukonceptz
Amp: Profile 4 x 60 (rms)

Got it all on EBAY ;)
System sounds crystal clear. You would think I had component seperates. Incredible bass responce also. Sounds like I have two 8's back there. And If I want to I can get a better amp because my rear speakers can handle twice the power I'm feeding them!

Just noticed sears had its tool sets on sale cheap so I went a picked up a set (after years of dreaming about it) once home i'm looking at the shipping box and notice on the box "SUPPLIER NAME = JESSIE & J CO.,LTD." so after a quick google search I find this (http://"http://library.consusgroup.com/library_pvw/130/130022.asp") so I guess its true.. craftsman is all made in china?!

I guess its better than Taiwan.....:yuck:

Showoff!

In my red bird:
-Alpine Headunit from 1996
-Infinity kappa or reference (cant remember) 5x7's
-Pioneer 2 way 6.5"
-Stock 3.5's with bass blockers
-Crossfire 200w amp
-Kicker Comp 12" in the trunk, in a huge plywood box

Mind you, everything in that car is free audio wise, i paid for some RCA cables, and speaker wire, since i ran all of my own wiring. Its sad because my friend put probably 600 bucks into his toyota audio wise, and mine made his sound like , i had it all set up very well.

In the turbo coupe:
-Stock premium sound.
-Sony 10-disk CD changer

Mine is all older stuff and my real amp needs to be fixed. but

Headunit Pioneer dehp825 with 1`2 disc changer.
Subs all atomic 2 x 12" hpw1294 2x 10" hpw1094
Mids and highs Lanzar 5.25 and matching tweeters.
Amps should be a Soundstream reference 705s but its broken so I've got a chessy pyramid 100 watt pushing the 12"s only al the rest is deck power the 10"s aren't hooked up right now.

I also have an mp3 player in there too. The subs are setup in freeair Setup. I've totaly seal the trunk of the car from the interior. I made spaker pods on the doors to give better imageing.  I've also made a mount for my mp3 player. I

Haha, it's pretty ghetto rigged right now. Since I like to keep my full size spare, the sub's crammed in the corner. I did actually try it mounted in the middle of the trunk and it didn't hit as hard.

My full setup is as follows.
Kenwood KDC 4019 head unit
Kenwood 5 1/4" 2-way coaxial speakers up front.
Infinity Kappa 6x9" 3 way coaxial speakers in rear.
Infinity Reference 12" Dual Voice Coil subwoofer.
Rockford Fosgate Sp series 300 watt amplifier.

The amp is pretty weak for what that sub can handle, but the rest of the system sounds good.  Although as of late the amp has been cutting in and out, due to a slew of different possible problems.

Here's some pics. Sorry they are py cam phone pics, it's just what was easiet though.

Mine is sad.
Car originally had premium sound, but it was all hacked up beyond repair before I bought the car.
I installed a good system but removed it for my new car so now the cougar has...

head unit-old aiwa tape deck- half of the lights are burned out :hick:
doors- cheesy cheap speakers that were free with the Panasonic mp3/satellite head unit that is now in my new car. *Circuit City's thank you for spending more than 300 on a head unit... $20 speakers :wtf:*
rear- Factory rear speakers.
Dash- They are not original, are junk and are not being used.:disappoin

Oh well, who needs a great stereo system in a car that makes it's own sweet music through the exhaust notes. :ies:

Stock stuff in everything except the '89 Mark, which has a Pioneer CD/MP3-CD head unit hooked to the stock Lincoln Premium Sound stuff. I have a wish list drawn up for that car, but I can't justify about a thousand bucks worth of audio equipment when I can't even currently afford to get the brakes fixed.. so the six Infinity speakers will have to wait a bit. :p (no sub planned, unless I can do things a little odd) The truck will get a similar head unit soon, and a couple speakers.. but nothing fancy. No idea what I'd put into the '86 T-bird once I bought it back and began the big change. Only planned out the Mark's stereo.
