Exhaust / Need Replacement Tailpipe - 84 tbird, 3.8
Somewhat surprised that I cannot find this pipe for sale (although the 87-88 comes up).  Is the walker 45852 that fits the 87-88 really different than the the 84?  If not, whats the easiest way to get a new tailpipe on?

Yes, I realized recently that with batch fire perhaps the swap wouldnt be too much trouble.  Doesnt this induction system net 20 hp?  Plus something stupid to do....

Thanks well if its a pain, then Ill just go with the Aod, which I now have.  Ive got a good low mileage c5 in the car now so itd be nice if its not too difficult to make useable though.

Engine Tech / 84 Tbird 3.8 to 5.0 Swap - Use 3speed auto?
Hey, so Im thinking of temporarily using my auto for this swap (depending on what I opt to put into the 5.0).  Would it be difficult to link the trans to the engine with the 3 speed (IE the kickdown) ?

Engine Tech / Engine harness 3.8 to 5.0 swap
Hey all, well after sitting on this for awhile, I think im going to do a 5.0 swap into my 84 3.8 car.  I have a source for motor and tranny from either 84 or 85 burd, and hardware but unfortunately hes not selling the engine harness.  How difficult will it be to get an ecm and harness?  I was thinking of refresheninf the motor and asking you folks about what upgrades should be added.  Will the 7.5" diff be ok?

Engine Tech / 2.3l and c5
Hey all. I have an 84 tbird and am considered swapping out the 3.8.  Does the 2.3l bolt up to the tranny behind my 3.8 (c5? 3 speed auto)?  I may pick up a non running 86 turbocoupe as a donor and want to do project in stages, but want to do motor first.

Engine Tech / Oil Leak - Ideas?
So, I replaced the intake gasket and this darn thing still leaks just the same. I did this based on your thoughts here, plus seeing a potential leak path up above the bellhousing.  I am certain that the valve covers and the intake manifold are not the source of the leak.  IT drips along the RFOB, seems to run down the dust cover for the converter, more on the right.  I can only guess that the only remaining leak source is the rear main seal, right??

Hey theres an 84 mustang for sale locally which has heavy rear end damage but is a 5.0 manual.  Wants $2000 for it.  Would this be a reasonable pick up for $1000-1500??

Haha, sorry to those that I may have offended, but I know lots of folks who don't appreciate my dear 84 (and tell me so). To each their own, but dam*, those fox cars before 83 were.....unique looking :).
