T-Bird/Cougar Parts & Cars WANTED / WTB -- EEC Wiring Harness
Looking for a backup harness for an 87 Cougar 5.0.  Not the engine harness as I have one.  I'm looking for the firewall harness.  I'd PREFER one for my specific vehicle due to wiring color/connector differences, but I'll take an '88 or even one from a MASS AIR Mustang.

Must be in good -- and I mean GOOD condition.  All connectors must be useable.  No cuts/splices in the harness
Those of you who know of me on here know that I pay on time and well.  I'm not a low-baller.  Post up what you have and what you want for it.

I'm in Farmingdale, NY if you wanna calculate shipping as well.

Thanks for looking.

Body/Appearance/Interior / Dash cluster cover plate
Anyone have luck getting rid of haze on the supposed-to-be-clear cover plate that goes in front of the dash cluster?  I used a mildly abrasive wax on mine yesterday and it laughed at me.  I'm debating on picking up a headlight lens cleaning kit and giving it a shot.  This plastic seems softer though so I'm leery.

This is a beautiful example of a Fox Body Car and it is now available to a new owner to enjoy it as much as I have. The interior is all leather from a Lincoln Mark VII including the door panels and looks great. 408 Stroker motor putting out 525 hp and 576 ft lbs of torque. Electronic ignition with 6000 and 6500 rpm chip sets. Interior console switches to add additional 1000 rpm and overdrive lockout. A04 automatic racing transmission with overdrive. Full wrap-around ground effects package. Custom headers and dual exhaust. Loud and proud! 8" rear end with .383 gearing. $25,000 invested in the drive train alone. Tinted windows. Suspension lowered. Four wheel disk brakes. 245s on the front and brand new Mickey Thompson 275s on the rear. Currently tuned for premium pump gas. This is an exceptionally fast and powerful car. Street legal and strip ready! $9000 OBO.  Trades for Motorcycle or pre-1960 Pickup Truck, +/- cash, considered.

Located in Huntsville, AL.  See it (and hear it!) for yourself by appointment.  For more information call or text Tom: 860-318-5795

Price:  $9,000

Not bad IMHO.  The purple on the lower portion is a bit much and the wheels have to go, but everything else is OK with me.

Lounge / I can't win...... 3/24/2014 Back in business!
So this was done to my car in my driveway between 9AM and Noon yesterday.....

My first thought was perhaps one of the kids did it, but after a few questions I realized it wasn't them.  They hadn't been anywhere near the car.  I know it was between those times because at 9 it was perfect and when I went to hose off the dirt spots from the drizzle the night before at noon it was there.

I've seen handle bar marks and for a handle bar from a bike to do this a great amount of pressure would have to be applied.  Enough to dent the panel.  The height difference between the mark on the door and the scratch on TOP of the front fender is approximately 6 inches....  No kid did this by accident in my opinion.  It's going back in again Monday.....  I already filed a police report.  At least the repair be a tax write-off.  Not even worth filing through insurance....

Lounge / Part # help
I can't seem to find this and hopefully some of you know how to do it better than I can.  Back in 2008 I installed the dual sun visors in my car I got from a Mercury Mountaineer in a salvage yard.  They look like the ones here, only in grey:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/91-92-93-94-FORD-EXPLORER-MAZDA-NAVAJO-RH-DOUBLE-SUNVISOR-NICE-TAN-/111203667639?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Year%3A1993|Make%3AFord|Model%3AExplorer&hash=item19e4414eb7&vxp=mtr

A google search for Mountaineer ones turns up similar results, but they are the ones with the smaller mirrors..... I want the big mirrors like in the link.  Illuminated as well.
My driver side one developed a rip and I'd like to replace it.  Searches have turned up no good.  I was hoping someone could tell me what the Ford part # for these assemblies in grey was.

Thanks in advance!

Lounge / Did someone here e-mail me about a cam for sale?
I just got an e-mail reference the old TFS cam/springs/retainers/locks I sold to Vinny back at the end of 2009.  Guy left his number.  Was from Washington State.  I only posted the cam in a few places and this one made the most sense for the person to be from.

If you're here, sorry sold it.....

Lounge / Carlisle 2014 Ford Nationals
Anyone going this year?

I traditionally take that week off for vacation.  The last time I went was 2011 as conflicting things came up the past 2 years.
Just found out yesterday this won't be the case (the conflicts were events for the kids which are on a DIFFERENT weekend this year) so I booked the hotel and paid the registration!

I'm debating putting in for the indoor section and going a day early....

Lounge / A big F U to my Cougar's occasionally cranky idle.
My idle went all wonky a couple of months ago....Nothing bad, it would just sit at 1100 or so in park after warming up.  Unfortunately, my trusted multimeter up and died so I just left it as I only drive the car only once every couple of weeks or so now anyway.  Fast forward to this week.  Got a day off with NOTHING to do.  Unhook battery, let sit, pull out IAC and clean it, clean throttle body (it was BAD.  Lots of idle time), reinstall IAC, perform Proper base idle reset.  Hooray!  850 in park, 780 in drive.

I walk away and 4 hours later, with the car stone cold, I start it up again.  PERFECTION.  Awesome.

Next day Leaving for work. 2:15 PM.  Running like  on startup.  Bucking, cranky, cantankerous....
I had to give it a bit of gas to keep it from stalling from park into drive....  WTF?
I drive it to work.  It's fine in traffic under a load and at a light in drive.  I get to work and put her in park.  Perfect idle.
Drive home is flawless after sitting for 8 1/2 hours with a perfect cold start (around 25 degrees faranheit that night).  Next day same thing.  Perfect.

Proof positive my car is cursed as I've been saying for years now.

So.....Anyone else have any intermittent anomalies that appear when there is no explanation other than voodoo or witchcraft?

T-Bird/Cougar Parts & Cars WANTED / Looking for some door lock actuators
OK.  It FINALLY happened.  The passenger side door lock actuator for my Cougar finally took a dump.  The driver side went a few years ago.  I've replaced it with an NOS Ford piece and subsequently TWO (yes TWO) more units from late model.  None of these 3 lasted longer than 18 months....The Ford unit was $130 disappointment most likely 'cause it's farmed out and not made by the same manufacturer as when these cars were new.....

Anyway if anyone has a set of the actuators laying around known to be good and in good shape, gimme a PM.  I'm sick of buying  that's new yet unreliable and overpriced and before I pull the pin on another set from Late Model, I wanna see if I can get some good used ones....

Lounge / Thoughts?

Overall, I like it.  If it will come in Highland Green and with a dual clutch paddle shift transmission option available with the 5.0, I'm all over it.
