I saw a picture of an MN-12 with the same conversion. That was ugly too.

ha...thats been for sale here and there for over 3 years now i think...keeps popping up.  :giggle:

I think if I was gonna spend $18k on a '49 Ford I'd buy a '49 Ford, not a Fox T-Bird abortion. Better yet, I'd buy a '49-'51 Merc.

...Which brings up a question that probably shouldn't be asked: I wonder what an '87-'88 Cougar with 49-51 Merc sheetmetal would look like...

I saw one similar to that (but more "stock" looking) in a car mag a few years ago & it got me thinking that with almost $10K of body damage on my '88, it might be cheaper to convert it to a '53 Studebaker.  :D
