Site Suggestions / Re: How to post pic in signature
It has to be accessible from the web somehow. On your own harddrive, you'd have to be running your own webserver for people to see it.

Glad you got it figured out

Miscellaneous For Sale/Wanted / Re: Pentium4 P4 1.4ghz, Motherboard, 128MB RDRAM
To tell you the truth, there's a fair chance you won't get any bids at $45. The original P4's were extremely slow, to the point that the 1GHz P3 was able to compete with the new P4's (at the time). The P4 needed to jack up the fsb and cache in order to stay competitive performance wise (but they sure had great marketting having a higher mhz rating than their competitors). Someone may want the memory though, as not much of the stuff sold due to its high price. The combo would make a great server if there was more ram.

Good luck either way. Its better than make a few bucks on such things than have it sit around until its not even worth the time to list on ebay.

Misc Tech / Re: Windshield Wipers
I know they aren't supposed to return all the way to park, but I know they aren't supposed to stop halfway up the windshield

Also, any recommendations for my next wiper blades? It doesn't matter as much as things such as tires, but there sure are differences in both longevity and noise (especially on these cars)

Misc Tech / Windshield Wipers
okay, since it started raining all the time, I started to notice that about 80% of the time when the wipers are on, when they're supposed to return to their horizontal near-parked positions, they may stop a few inches up. This morning the tips had to have been 6" up the window. Turning the switch up to the second notch would eventually get the wipers to lay down like they're supposed to after each wipe, but going back to the slower delayed setting (notch 1), they'd begin to rest high again. I don't THINK anything HERE  deals with the exact problem but I may be wrong. What's wearing out and should it/can it be replaced new or is it a trip to the junkyard?

It seems to go down better when the window is slick, but not "clean" clean. I may have to invest in some more rainx.

Body/Appearance/Interior / Re: Painting over chromed plastic?
you can fix any problem with clearcoat easily with rubbing compound and if you want it perfectly flat, sand with a sanding block and then use rubbing compound. Looks good though. Now if only the rest of the car looked like the grill does in the picture... :p

On the intake, I like the "color" it comes from the factory with. I've always liked the look of metal more than paint. Looks good though. I've really gotta take the upper intake off my car and replace the pcv hose soon. I'm down to 13mpg. 15 a month ago. 18 before that (all city)

User Rides / Re: My 87 Turbo Coupe
1.3MP isn't too bad. A FEW YEARS (3-4) ago there was this 1.3MP camera for around $60 (discontinued-clearance price) which took excellent pictures and 1280 x 960 isn't all that bad

Body/Appearance/Interior / Re: homemade headlight lenses
they're slightly parabolic vertically also, but not enough to do much for the road. Making the top of the housing reflective may help aim SOME light down to the road but I wouldn't expect miracles.

Body/Appearance/Interior / Re: homemade headlight lenses
as was brought up in another thread, is it legal? Would it pass regulations? Since the lens wouldn't reflect the light to the sides, very little light would be anywhere but in the direction the reflector aims.

I have no idea what the laws are on headlights though. How would you shape the lexan? Also, the stuff at home depot isn't all that scratch resistant. I wouldn't be surprised it they quickly start to look like they're frosted. At least, if its actual lexan brand (the HD up the road carries some off-brand stuff), it should be easy to work with and not crack
