'Nuther Question on Ford truck trannies (Bellhousing Q?)

Ok, so it seems my brother's E-250 tranny is officially dead. He has a friend that has a '96 F-150 tranny lying around. The only thing is, the F-150 tranny is bolted to a 300 inline 6. My brother's van suffers from the 4.2 V6. I know the V6 has the same bellhousing bolt pattern as the Windsor, but does the 300? In other words, would that 300 tranny bolt onto my brother's V6? Starter location the same? Etc?

The 5 speed i have on my wifes 351 use to sit behind an I6 from an mid 90's f150.  that being said,, and the 4.2 block being the same as the early 3.8,,(stroked and thats all)
the odds would be perfectly acceptable that its a direct swap.

i know your talking about an automatic but still,

Yes, the 300 inline six is the same bellhousing as the Windsor. That's how I get those I-6 C-6 tranny cores cheaper than 351W C-6 cores from the unimformed dude at the junkyard. :giggle:
