What controls the fan speed on a car with ATC? and where is this located. I have an 88 Cougar XR7 and an 87 TC both with ATC. Both head units work in the TC neither work in the XR7. They will switch modes (defrost panel etc) in the XR7 but no fan. I found this gerry-rigged set up in the XR7 which the TC doesnt have (see pix). A small black box that says PWR Fan Motor with P/N F4LF19E624AA. What Im trying to do is take the working system from the TC and put it into the XR7. SO if I can just figure out what controls the fan and where it is, I think Ill be all set.
ok so my 1988 Xr7 has this problem. I dont drive it much at all as a matter of fact I have never driven it more than 50 miles since I bought it last year.. We starting tinkering with it and found out the timing was WAY off (low) so we fixed that. I took it for a spin and well...no power. I can ease her up to 55 and if I punch it she gets louder and shakes and accelerated VERY slowly and painfully. In neutral she sometimes will rev up and sometimes she wont rev past 3,000 rpms. My thoughts are a clogged convertor. WHat are yours? Suggestions on how to test?
So my 88 Xr7 has the auto temp control. When I push the two buttons for medium fan speed I hear a loud clicking coming from under the passenger side dash. It also does it when I try to select floor. I ran the diagnostic and got 88. So I stating randomly trying to switch modes and settings. Ran it again and got a 2. Defrost/floor blend door actuator out of specs. I figured. So does anyone know which one or where it is and how I can replace it? Any exploded view diagrams for our dashes? Should I change to a manual system? Help help help:punchballs:
Whats the deal with an 88 XR7. Does it have any special significance? I have one. and I was wondering about it. Firmer suspension? handling package? any ideas?

ok maybe not a 2011 but the boys who took the new Chevy spoogedump (Camaro) and made a Trans Am out of it gave me the great idea to turn a Mustang into a Cougar just like Ford did in 1967...
So, I'm looking at getting a new car in March or so. I had one picked out but now Im having reservations. A 2011 Shelby GT500. It has to be a daily driver for the most part. Its replacing my 2009 Mazdaspeed3. But I started thinking, no matter how fast, how flashy(or to flashy) or nice of a car it is, at the end of the day, its still just a Mustang. I wanted something really nice and something thats less boy racer.. so I was thinking on an Audi A5 (or maybe an S5). What do you think?
Just bought the Spectra Chrome and Gold Effects systems. Went to Clearwater and did the training. It was awesome. I sprayed a horseshoe crab chrome, them made it a purple chrome. Also plated a shiny quarter with real 24 K gold with the plating system. Its a huge investment for me but I think it will work out well. I can re gold plate emblems or regular chromed emblems and make them gold. This includes household, marine, sporting gods etc. I plan on doing some of this to my Cougars and Tbirds. I should get the system in 2-2.5 weeks. If anyone is interested in it lets talk. I;ll keep ya posted or send me a PM. I plan on plating a Tbird symbol and a Cougar symbol first! As far as the spray on chrome process, my Cougars grill needs a rechrome and some color!!

ok so Im looking into this paint to apply a mirror like chrome finish to just about anything. Ill be going to Florida to spend the day at their facility.
