User Rides / Sorry, I had to....
Well, since there's a surge in people showing their other vehicles, why can't I?  So, before I show them, I'll just say that they are both Jeep Comanche's.  One's an 86 and the other is an 88.  The 88 is going to be seeing some changes over the next year or so, as is the 86.  The 88 will be going lower than it is now, and the 86 will be lifted.  Anyways, here they are.

I think you all can figure out which one is which, but the black and silver one is the 86.  It has the GM 2.8L carbed V6 with 4wd and a 3spd auto in it.  The blue one with the racerback and visor on it is the 88.  It has a 2.5L FI I4 with 2wd and a 5spd manual in it.  These are the reason I don't have hardly any money for another cat or *sigh* bird.  Just Empty Every Pocket, they got that one right.

Miscellaneous For Sale/Wanted / LWB S10/Ranger topper
Does anyone want one?  I have one that came off of my 86 Jeep Comanche.  It will also fit the S10's and Ranger's with a 7 ft. bed.  I'm in Menomonie, WI.  If interested please give me a price, first decent offer can have it.  I'm not looking to get much for it, I would just like it gone.

Sorry for the quality of the pics.

Lounge / odd speedometer ?'s
Is there any way to make a gauge cluster "turn on" when it's out of the car?  The reason I ask is I still have my 199 mph modded cluster that I was going to put into my 86 cougar.  I just need to know how many miles are on it, as I never really got a chance to check that before I pulled it from the 86 t-bird it came out of.  If there's a way, please let me know as I don't need it anymore, and would like to put it in the classifieds here, but want to know the mileage and all before I post it.

P.S. If this is the wrong place for this would a mod please move it to an appropriate forum.
Thanks,
Joe

Lounge / Gone forever....
Well, as little as I ever posted on here, I will more than likely not be on here again.  The 86 cat went to the big yard today.  It was either take it to the yard and get some money for it, or have the state take it away.  I'll still be checking in on here everyday as I have been, but am once again catless.

T-Bird/Cougar Parts & Cars FOR SALE / '86 cougar f/s (Now SOLD)
Ok, I have been informed that this car has until the end of Feb. to be gone, and noone wants it locally, so I'll offer it up here again, I'm not looking to get what I had originally posted it for, instead I'm going to let it go for $750 obo.  There is little to no rust on this cat, but it does have it's gremlins, such as, it needs a new ECU harness and probably some sensors, the fuel injectors need replacing as it gets fuel to the rail, but no further.  Included will be the small stash of parts I have including a base digi dash which I have done the W-2 mod to, a NIB fuel pump for the 5.0, a couple clocks, and an extra set of rim/tires.

Lounge / lowering spring alternative
For those of you interested in lowering the front of your cat/bird cheaply and don't wanna sacrifice ride quality by cutting a coil, or simply don't want to spend so much on new springs, I have news.  Over the past year and a half, I have become an avid Jeeper, and on one of the forums I'm part of, some people have become aware that using fox cat/bird V8 coils gives a Cherokee/Comanche between 2"-5" of lift depending on what motor is in it.  Because the spring rates are so close ride quality is not spared, so for those wanting to lower their car, just go to your local junkyard/pull-a-part yard and look for Jeep Cherokee's between '84-'96 and any year Jeep Comanche with either a 4 cyl. or a V6 in it (2wd or 4wd depends on how low you want to go) and grab the springs.  Keep in mind that 4wd springs are about 1" taller than 2wd.  Hope this helps someone, as this is quite possibly one of my last posts on here, although I still check and see what's new every day.

T-Bird/Cougar Parts & Cars FOR SALE / Time has come
Selling whole or willing to part out '86 5.0L cougar.  Black ext., red int., if buying whole, comes with NIB fuel pump, extra PS motor, extra instrument panel w/ W2 mod, extra digital clock, and other parts.  I am at the point I am willing to part it out as needed, everything appears to be in good condition, body panels are straight with a few dings, little to no rust on the car.  The motor does run, but only if you dump gas down the intake, so it needs new injectors, and a new ECU harness with sensors.  Car has approximately 160,xxx on it, less on the motor.  I live in Menomonie, WI, but the car is located in Pepin, WI.  Let me know what you need and give me a reasonable price for what you want, and I will get back to you as soon as I can.

Lounge / Am I nuts?
Ok, all the time has come, I have no choice but to sell my beloved '86 cougar.  I lost the pics of it when I had to reinstall windows, but I hope to get some more soon (just gotta get down there and take more), but for those that don't remember, let me tell you about it.  Base cougar, red int. with two tone black and red dash, swapped 5.0 that needs injectors and a new ECU harness, black and silver paint, pretty straight body, little to no rust at all.  It also needs the 5.0 fuel pump installed (which I have) and a new DS seat motor (which I also have) and hood hinge bolts, 160 or so thousand miles on car, less on motor.  Now to my real question, is asking $2,000 as a starting price too high, I mean I know I will end up dropping the price, but is it too high to start at?  I need it gone REAL soon, so I'd probably go as low as $1,200, but I'd like to try to get as much as I can, so I can get a running winter vehicle.  So, am I nuts?

Lounge / dirt track racing
Yep, I'm thinking of leaving the derby world and entering into dirt tracking.  I'll be running in the 4 cylinder "hornet" class at a somewhat local track here in Wisconsin.  I got all the connections I need to get the cage and race seat set up, all I need now is my car.  I'm looking for a ford escort wagon with a manual tranny, preferably a '93 because that's the year I'm told has the 2.3? mazda motor in it.  One thing is for sure I will be the fastest wagon out there next year (probably only because I'll be the only wagon out there).

Body/Appearance/Interior / stock cars
After reading the thread about the stock car decal idea, I happened to remember a car I seen at a somewhat local dirt track where a friend of mine races.  Just thought you guys and girls might find it pretty interesting.

Lounge / Talk about a scare
Well, as I'm sure some of you read in a previous post of mine, I have a genetic disorder known as Cystic Fibrosis, which affects my respiritory, digestive, and immune systems.  Just a little over a month ago, I was living a good life, nothing wrong, then all of a sudden I wake up one morning and can barely breathe or move.  Had a friend rush me to the ER, and after some extensive blood work and other various tests, come to find out that I had developed a staph infection in my lungs, I was literally only hours away from death (which would have sucked), so after a month straight of sucking on oxygen and getting intravenous antibiotics, come to find out that the drugs the doctors put me on were causing my kidneys to fail, YEA, good news there (sarcasm is obvious).  The good news is that I'm doin A LOT better, but the bad news is that my kidneys are functioning at only half capacity, I had to get a full blood transfusion, and I have to alter my diet severly, which being only 130 lbs. as is means I'm gonna lose a bit of weight.  On a lighter note, I think I'm finally making headway on getting my car going, but am not going to have the money to make it to CJ this year unless I take a bus or fly out and rent a car, which I'm seriously contemplating.  Anyways, sorry for the long post, but I just thought I'd share this with everyone here in the long shot chance anyone was wondering where I went.

Lounge / Stupid ? time again
OK, I got a kinda stupid question that's been bugging me lately.  It may have been discussed before, but oh well.  Why is it that our cars never came as 5 bolt from the factory, or even the mustangs for that case?  I mean I had an '84 Dodge Shelby Charger that was 5 bolt, but they also came as 4 bolt.  Wouldn't you figure that Ford would have the option for it, even as part of a package, I mean, our cars are a good deal bigger and heavier, but no option for a 5 bolt?  Sorry for the rant, and if I brought up an old subject, but like I said, it's been bugging me lately.
