Welcome to the new Fox T-Bird/Cougar messageboard. Please take a moment to read this welcome message.
As you all know, the old messageboard was quite remarkable in that everyone got along. There were very few arguments, and even when there was one, it was settled quickly and in a friendly manner. Very seldom was a post ever deleted, locked or moved. People just plain behaved themselves. That is exactly the kind of forum we want the new one to remain. However, there are a few rules, which I hope should be common knowledge anyway:
- Please post your message in the most appropriate forum. In other words, please don't post your car for sale in the tech section or something like that. I don't want to have to resort to moving threads around like they do in those other boards, but if it gets out of hand I will.
- Please keep the profanity to a minimum. We're mostly mature adults here, but some people get offended by profanity. My mother visits this board occasionally and she hates the F-word, so right off it's banned. If other words are abused (like "Chevy" or "Camaro"... just kidding, OldRaven) they will be blacklisted as well.
- There will be absolutely no nudity tolerated in any image, whether it is hosted on your server or ours. Our web host has a strict no-nudes policy and we honour it. Scantily-clad women in your avatars are included in the ban if they are offensive.
- Racism, discrimination, shagism, name-calling and any other offensive behaviour will not be tolerated. While we hope that everyone would honour this out of decency I thought it should have been mentioned anyway.
- Some topics of discussion are not permitted here. Religion and politics are the two biggies. Threads on those two subjects ALWAYS go bad. We'd really rather do without the drama here.
- Spammers will be treated even worse than perpetrators of racism or discrimination. If you join this board just to post spam, links to spam, or links to offensive websites (including websites that intentionally try to damage people's computers) your post, and your account, will be deleted as soon as I become aware of it.
- Finally, while the admins and mods assume no responsibility for the contents of any thread posted within this messageboard, we do reserve the right to edit, move, lock or delete any thread at our sole discretion. This is not likely to happen if the spirit of the old board carries over, but if the situation ever arises you've been informed.
I'm sure that all of you agree that we're not being too strict here. The important thing is to carry on in the same manner you would have in the old board. Have fun!
---Carmen
I couldn't agree more.
I think we had (have) one of the most civilized message boards on the 'net. I'm glad to be a part of the new system!
ROCK ON.
The people who post here are extremely well behaved, if i knew all of their mothers i would tell them all that they have good boys and girls, and yes im sure almost everyone is older than i am but it sounded funny
Ummm just a stupid question but where's the other 4? I thought there were 10 commandments? I only see 6 :D
What is the board's take on NSFW (Not Safe For Work) material in posts?
*NSFW* This (http://"http://foxtbirdcougarforums.com/showpost.php?p=97144&postcount=10") *NSFW* post doesn't contain outright nudity...but clearly violates most work-place internet usage policies. Since I do look at the board at work once in a while ;), something like this could potentially get me (or others browsing from work) fired.
Most other boards I peruse require threads with NSFW material to be labeled as such...or give links notifying the user of NSFW material if the thread isn't labeled.
This is the nicest message board I have visited.
It has the most friendly users and I love the fact that I can post w like crazy with pics.
Lucky for me it is the most interesting one as well.
Great job!!!!!
Keep up the good work!!!!!!!!!
I'm a new member and I'd like to compliment you on your site. Excellent layout and a wealth of information not to mention alot of nice cars and owners. Keep up the good work and Thank You.
This site is great people are nice and your right not much of arguing I think I bumped heads one or two times and the argument was just dropped. Which is good, I think we all just realized we have different political views and just plain different views on life but we all have one thing in common and that’s CARS more than that its 83-88 t-birds and cougars.
The other thing I like about this forum is good information I have visited other mustang forums and theirs plenty of pages of bad info and advice that goes unchallenged from other members. Don’t want to bad mouth other forums I think the reason for it is everyone and there brother own a mustang and these boards are flooded w/them. On this site because where smaller, if there is wrong information your are corrected immediately (most of the time).
Anyway I love you guys.:grinno:
this is by far the best site forum ive ever been on theres rarely any trouble
Great info, great people, and no problems. If you have a fox bird/cat, this is THE place to be.
Whatever happened to all the posts from last year?? I'm looking for a shade-tree dealer I found here from SW Washington. Please send me a message if you still haunt here.
Bump.
Can't bump a sticky. But it's necessary that all members read and abide by these commandments (rules).
Can't bump it, but it does put it back in the list of people who use the "show new posts" function of the forum. I've highlighted the one rule that people should pay particular attention to but seem to be ignoring lately...
Pretty easy rules to follow if you ask me. I learned very early in life politics and religion is two topics that you cannot discuss with anyone because no one ever agrees with you. It just breeds trouble.
wheres the thou shalt not have any other forums then FTCF
jk
band of brothers man! we all got one thing in common here. WHERE ALL CAR GUYS!! peace. birdman
What a great site, I found it yesterday and have bin on and off it for the last 12 hrs. I can not leave it alone GOOD JOB and thank you very much
I'm with Paul. I've been browsing it for awhile now and finally become a member, posted my pics, and made my first post earlier today. Tons of info from very experienced people. I have lots to learn... as this is my first T-Bird. Thanks for creating such a fantastic site! Great community!
I too, am a new member, and I got to hand it to ya guys. I've been to a lot of online forums, and this is BY FAR the most well-behaved, informative car forum in the history of teh internets
I accept de rules.
this comunity is great.
thank you boys.
There is also an unwritten rule that if you have a Box Fox 80-82 Tbird or XR-7, you MUST post up pics.:beatyoass:
;)
Seriously though, start a thread in the "User Rides" section.
You got it!, I was starting to think I was the only one in the world that love the Boxy Foxes
I guess it's been a week or so since I have browsed, and this was a surprise. I enjoy all the information on this site, and have started looking to add another T-bird or Cougar to the driveway. Thank you.
We have a LIKE button now!!! Yipee!!!!!
Excellent. Thanks for making a great site better. Appreciate your hard work.
Any chance the search function can be made more advanced? Hate to say it but it is no where near as robust as the old search function. Also, locating the search function under the "Community" button is not intuitive. Can it be moved out from underneath that button and have its own button next to "New Replies"?
Also, what happened to our post count? Is the battery charge status under my avatar supposed to take place of it?
Otherwise great job and the overhaul was well worth all the efforts, great job!!
K, there is a generic search in the upper righthand corner of most themes, and that's a lot more convenient. We're doing an indexing right now of all pages...it will take awhile (maybe a day or more) but afterwards the searches should be MUCH more precise and quicker as well.
The 'search' under the Community tab is the in-depth search. I am uncertain as to the extent that it can be customized. Will try to move it out on its own, if possible.
The post count might be a theme thing. Let me dive into that.
All I can ask for and thanks. May just be how it is so if that is the case I will adapt :toothless:
Tweaked the layout a bit today. The full search is now on a button as requested. Right now that button isn't showing up on a mobile width so I'll try to fix that. Until/if it's fixed, we'll keep the quick search in the upper right as a backup for mobile viewing.
The post count thing...I've not found a setting to change that yet. Will keep hunting. It's a head scratcher for sure.
