Miscellaneous For Sale/Wanted / 90 Mustang GT + ALL PARTS I have
For sale I have a 1990 Mustang GT.  Clean title.  Purchaser MUST take entire lot...car + all parts.  I am moving a fair distance from my current location, and cannot/will not take this stuff with me.  Anything not taken with purchaser will be thrown out.  I have an album of the car and parts here:

http://imgur.com/a/XPF0v

I will add more images as time permits.

Included in this sale are:  '90 Mustang GT(best suited for parts, runs/drives, has 4 cyl. T-5 but does NOT have proper pilot bearing.  While it does drive, it is NOT suitable for road use, needs work to floors, has no interior, improper pilot bearing.  This car was destined for race car duty but moving south has hampered such plans, has good engine, rear, rust free doors, decent windows, and other parts.), '91 LX front(good condition header panel), rear bumpers, fenders(fixable), passenger door(fixable, no rust), 2 LX hatches(no rust), hood(dent but fixable, no rust),  K-member with LCA's and brakes  (OR 2.3T K-member with Engine, GOOD T-5, LA3 EEC-IV, and wire harness for addition cost.), NEW head light kit, NEW sub-frame connectors, NEW SVO front calipers, good GT fenders with GOOD splash shields, THREE sets of wheels(all need tires[1 set Turbines, 1 set Pony wheels, and 1 set in pics{don't know origin or brand, but fit all Fox vehicles I have put them on perfectly, they are 17" wheels}]), and whatever other parts I find.

If I remember/find other parts, I will add them here.  I'm moving cross country, I cannot take these with me.  That said I know what these parts are worth and am being very modest with pricing.  I'm firm on my price as only a few of these items would fetch the asking price.

This ad is being posted on several selling platforms(craigslist, letgo, etc...), BUT only here will I help out anyone interested in buying.  I.E.  I'm willing to help deliver car/parts to anyone interested in buying from this forum.  Please PM me here if you see this and are interested.

I'm asking $1000 for everything I have.  If the buyer comes from this forum, I'll include anything and everything I have that I find, that I have for our cars and for the Fox body Mustang.  Thank you for looking.

Other Vehicles / Back in a V8 RWD daily
After going to Carlisle, I had the itch to get back into a more appropriate for me daily driver.  I was driving an 02 Subaru Legacy.  That car served its purpose as a reliable all weather vehicle to get me to work no matter what.  But the car was as boring as could be, except for like 2 days a year.  The plan was to find someone to trade my car for a Crown Vic.  Then I started looking for Mark VIII engines for my Cougar, as I'm running out of time to get that project done.  Came across a few Marks on really nice shape and decided to skip the Vic.  The stars aligned for me and I had the Subaru sold in 2 days of deciding to pull the trigger.  Delivery day took a week longer (sold it to an 18 yr old as her first car with the blessing of her step-father), and my wife and I spent about 10 hours driving to drop the Subaru off and pick the Mark up.

User Rides / 84 XR-7 Project
I meant to start work on my 84 months ago, but I've been super busy with the cruise I went on, wedding, and just this past weekend, part 1 of our wedding parties. The plan keeps changing, except for it getting stripped and redone.

Today's post is about my starting point. I removed my body kit, which I thought would have been a lot more difficult. I knew I had a decent amount of work just on the body. I'm pleasantly surprised that it isn't worse than it is. Only 3 holes, 1 of which is the driver front floor. I'll need some sheet metal, but the car is as solid as it was when I got it.

^^This is why I needed another front bumper.  To make the kit fit I had to cut all that away.

General Fox T-Bird/Cougar Discussion / It's been a while
Almost 9 years, actually, since I was last active here.

Here is the current state of my '84:

I need to get my butt in gear.  I want to have it ready for that thing that is happening in 2017.  At one point I had plenty of time to make it what I want for the deadline I set for myself.  Who knows if I'll get it done in time.  My plans have changed so many times because of how little time I have left, which keep shrinking, which forces more cuts.

Anyway, hopefully me getting myself involved again will help with my lack of motivation.  Unfortunately, I need a lot of parts.  I hoping to get some help tracking them down.  Once the snow dies, it's getting stripped.  Here's to finally achieving my goal.

General Fox T-Bird/Cougar Discussion / Attempted theft leaves Cougar wounded.
My brother was using my car to goto school while his truck was in the shop getting an inspection.  He took it 2 days...well 1 day..the 2nd day he didn't make it.  Some punk ass kid decided my worthless rims were worth taking.  On the way to school the second day, the driver rear wheel just fell off.  He was so stressed from it he didn't goto school that day.  So now I'm left with a wounded cat and no leads.  What's worse I think, is that the prick behind my brother had the nerve to HIT my wheel and send it down the street and then continue on WITHOUT STOPPING TO SEE IF MY BROTHER WAS OK!!!!!  I wish it was me....I would have ran after that SOB and clocked him one, right in front of his kid.  Getting junior to school on time is more important that seeing if someone is ok after a wheel just fell off the car and they hit it......god the ignorance.  And luckily my brother wasn't on the highway anymore...he was going over 60 just a few minutes before the wheel came off.....that  almost killed my brother for some unknown brand rims that only fit my car....not any honda or nissan like he thought they would.........I'm just without words on how someone could do this in the high school I went to.

Evidence they were tampered with:
  • All the lugs just fell off.  No broken studs.
  • The rest of the lug nuts, according to my brother, were loose.
  • I'm a technician by trade.  Out of the hundreds of wheels I've taken off and put back on, none have fallen off.  And I was the last one to have the wheels off...when I put the junkyard rear in.  I don't fool with wheels, I stay consistant with how I install them...the way I learned.
  • A string of cars have been hit in my hometown, in the high school parking lot.......which has cameras.
  • The car has traveled about 300 miles since the rear was installed, which was the last time the wheels were off of it.
Here are the pics:

I'm majorly bummed out.  This car has been headache after headache.  Once I saw the damaged in person, I almost started to cry....I've put hours into this car and it just keeps breaking...even when I'm 100 miles away from it.

So now it sits....for 6 months....1 year....2 years...who knows...  But it sits until I can repair the damage, and replace an endless list of things that need attentions.  Including the engine....I've decided to move away from the 2.3T's and put in a more reliable...powerful engine.  This along with my girlfriend's TC make me glad we were able to get into some new vehicles.  My GTP and her newly purchased 95 Mustang GT.  It gives us piece of mind knowing our cars won't break down every other day while allowing us to keep those cars for future use.

Ok...rant over....I'm glad my brother is ok...but if I ever find that kid....I'm gonna....................I'll stop myself.....but it will be ugly.

Drivetrain Tech / Slippage
So what does it mean when a tranny slips in overdrive and then doesn't catch until a minute or so later?

It's an A4LD....of course....just rebuilt....I haven't driven it yet so I'm not too clear on the situation.  This is what I know, my brother has been driving the TC to make sure it is safe and not leaking anything so I can give it back to my GF.  He said after about a half hour of driving, it just started slipping.  He said it feels like it jumps out of gear into neutral.  Then after stopping, it takes about a minute for the car to be able to move, only to repeat this sympton everytime it shifts into 4th.  It shifted fine when I drove it.  I'm hoping it is the adjustment to the OD band.

I'm just looking for some feedback as I can't drive it til tomorrow night.  He said the fluid is fine.  Thats all the info I have...I'm in the dark until tomorrow.  Any help and optimism would be appreciated....it's been a better part of a year since I started fixing the car.  I just want to be done with it so I can relax on my days off!

General Fox T-Bird/Cougar Discussion / I blew it...
The rear went tonight.  Power shifted into second, it hooked up and I let off, then normally shifted into third.  I still had power at this point.  It was only after I shifted to fourth that I lost the rear.  I didn't notice though until I was going up hill.  Then gravity played that cruel trick on my and pulled my car down the hill.  Its parked in a snobby country club parking lot right now waiting for me to somehow pull it some where that I won't have to worry about it getting towed.

This is just another reason I had to buy a new car.  And this coming after new rotors, front end links, an oil change, and a ton and a half of wiring corrections.  No respect...I tell ya.  Oh well...I'm off to save money for a new ring and pinion................................for some reason I just can't get to upgrading this car.  Had to buy the rotors because the old ones were under spec, had to buy new brake lines because they failed inspection......I was going to upgrade to at least TC brakes...same with this rear...I wanted an 8.8....not to buy a new ring and pinion for this POS 7.5.  :yuck: :shoothead:raspberry:bricks1::(

Engine Tech / Cooling Fans won't come on
After 8 months of work, my gf's 88 TC is FINALLY back together and running.  It runs good and will be on the road in a couple weeks.  But first I have to work on the typical kinks and quarks.  As of now I have taken care of everything except for 2 things.  The first is the car overboosts...I have to check the hoses and routing for the hoses.  Simple problem.  But the problem I have a question on is about the cooling system.

The system pressurizes and doesn't leak, but the coolant temp gauge doesn't move and the fans don't come on.  I have replaced the ECT so it isn't that.  The passenger side fan comes on when doing a self test, so the PCM is able to control at least one fan.  I'm out of ideas.  BTW I removed the dumb oil "cooler" and put in a remote mount filter kit.  At first I plugged the intake port for coolant and thought that might be the problem.  Since then I have run a line around the engine and removed that plug I originally put in.  Before with the plug installed, the system wouldn't pressurize.  After I opened it up, the coolant hoses get nice and firm.  So that took care of one problem but not the other.  The car will get nice and hot, but the fans won't come on nor will the temp gauge move.  Sometimes though, the gauge will shoot to full HOT!  Yet, still no fans.  I need some suggestions on what to check.  I only get to work on the car on Sundays, so I won't get to try anything for about a week.  Any help would benefit me hugely.  I just want to give my gf her car that she loves so much back....I'm already 4 months overdue on the project....so I just need to get it back to her.  An aftermarket sensing probe kit isn't out of the question either, but I still would like the gauge to work.

User Rides / New vhip...err ride...
After months of trying I have finally managed to land myself a new car....newish....2002.  Anyway I guess the key to getting one is...be at a job longer than a month.  I kept getting turned down.  First for a 99 Mustang, then for cheaper but older versions of my current car.  I've landed a gem and I couldn't be happier to go into debt because of it.  You can barely tell it has 77,000 miles on it...it looks fresh from the showroom.  Anyway here she be....my new 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP.

General Fox T-Bird/Cougar Discussion / This is the mindless I can't stand.
Just browsing Myspace and came across this in the videos section:

http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoid=722837052&n=2&Mytoken=C5666821-15AA-9052-3DF460C3095DB82011939505

What is wrong with it that they have to jump it like that?  Why an XR-7?   I'm looking for one of those and people like that are wasting them....I don't care about blown head gasket, rust rotted strut tower, bent subframe, paint gone ones, but.....just loook at it!!

I regret saying this....but it held up pretty well.....but for what?  A couple laughs?  Jump a Cavalier, a Civic, hell a Sundance :D....anything that can be spotted 7 times in every 10 cars....not that....
