Electrical Tech / 4 eye projector lights
I know this topic has been discussed before, but I have come across a source that manufactures 4 x 6 projector lights. Not the cheap Chinese imitations you can get on e-bay that actually make things worse, but actual projector lights. The metal retaining buckets will need to be seriously modified as the light is completely square. The light itself is capable of both high and low beam, and uses LEDs as the light source. I have contacted the company to see where they are able to be purchased, how much they retail for, and what type of connection it uses. I am thinking it is an H4 connector since that seems to be what most of their other lights use. This company also makes a lot of aftermarket lights for Harley Davidson motorcycles, and are located in the US. When I found out more I will gladly post an update.

Lounge / Anyone an electronics expert?
Here is what I am trying to do.

Using a 2 button remote and transmitter (similar to remote lock unlock), I would like to use 1 button to activate a random timer (5-15) seconds. That timer would then power a linear actuator for approx. 5 second. After that 5 seconds I would like everything to reset until the button is pushed again.

The second button would be used to activate a car starter. This time amount should be adjustable for fine tuning.

I would like to keep everything 12v for simplicity as the device will need to be portable where there is no electricity.

It is a project I am working on to get my Mechanical Engineering degree. Any help would be appreciated. If anymore info is needed, please don't hesitate to ask. Thanks in advance.

T-Bird/Cougar Parts & Cars WANTED / Chrome Power Mirror
I am looking for a Passenger side chrome power mirror for my '83 Thunderbird. Like a moron, I tried to shimmy between the car and the wall to plug in my battery tender, and busted off the mirror. I'm not in a real hurry, don't plan on having the car out again 'til April at the earliest. My zip is 44614 (for shipping purposes)

Suspension/Steering / Sloppy brake pedal.
When I first apply the brakes, I have a nice stiff pedal. The front will lock, the back will not. After about 10 seconds, the pressure begins to bleed off until the pedal goes to the floor, and the car begins to roll. If I press the pedal again it is stiff and the pressure bleeds off again. I thought that it was the MC so I replaced it, and bled all the lines, but still have the problem. I don't see where any of the lines or anything else is leaking. I did the TC rear axle swap in '06, and haven't had a problem until now. I didn't use an adjustable prop valve, but I did gut the stock one and replaced the stock MC with one from a Crown Vic. as suggested. The car is unsafe to drive, and I am not sure where to go next. Any help is appreciated. The car is an '83 tbird with the 5.0.

Lounge / Interesting Top Fuel Dragster Facts.
You don't have to be a drag racing fan to appreciate
these statistics. Some Interesting Top Fuel Dragster
Facts:

* One dragster's 500-inch Hemi makes more
horsepower then the first 8 rows at Daytona.

* Under full throttle, a dragster engine consumes
1 1/2 gallons of nitro per second, the same rate of
fuel consumption as a fully loaded 747, but with 4
times the energy density.

* The supercharger takes more power to drive
then a stock hemi makes.

* With nearly 3000 CFM of air being rammed in
by the supercharger on overdrive, the fuel mixture
is compressed into nearly-solid form before ignition.

* Cylinders run on the verge of hydraulic lock.

* Dual magnetos apply 44 amps to each spark plug.
This is the output of an arc welder in each cylinder.

* At stoichiometric (exact) 1.7:1 air/fuel mixture
(for nitro), the flame front of nitro methane measures
7050 degrees F.

* Nitro methane burns yellow. The spectacular white
flame seen above the exhaust stacks at night is raw
burning hydrogen, dissociated from atmospheric water
vapor by the searing exhaust gases.

* Spark plug electrodes are totally consumed during
a pass. After 1/2 way, the engine is dieseling from
compression plus the glow of exhaust valves at
1400 degrees F. The engine can only be shut down
by cutting off it's fuel flow.

* If spark momentarily fails early in the run, unburned
nitro builds up in those cylinders and then explodes
with a force that can blow cylinder heads off the block
in pieces or blow the block in half.

* Dragsters twist the crank (torsionally) so far (20
degrees in the big end of the crank) that sometimes
cam lobes are ground offset from front to rear to re-
phase the valve timing somewhere closer to syn-
chronization with the pistons.

* To exceed 300mph in 4.5 seconds dragsters must
accelerate at an average of over 4G's. But in reaching
200 mph well before 1/2 track, launch acceleration is
closer to 8G's.

* If all the equipment is paid off, the crew worked for
free, and for once NOTHING BLOWS UP, each run
costs $1000.00 per second.

* Dragsters reach over 300 miles per hour before
you have read this sentence.

* Top Fuel Engines ONLY turn 540 revolutions from
light to light!

* The redline is actually quite high at 9500rpm.

* To give you an idea of this acceleration, the current
TF dragster elapsed time record is 4.477 seconds
for the quarter mile. This means that you could be coming
across the starting line in your average Lingenfelter
powered "twin-turbo" Corvette at 200 mph
(on a FLYING START) and the dragster would BEAT
you to the finish line FROM A DEAD STOP in a quarter
mile distance!

LEADS on T-Bird/Cougar Stuff For Sale / 20th Anny 29K miles $4500 Akron, Ohio
I noticed this yesterday on my way home from work, so I ran up there today and got some pics. i forgot to get the Phone number though, so if anyone wants it asap I can run up tomorrow and get it, or else I will just get it off the sign Monday. I only saw one little spot of rust on the body, all the emblems are faded, I have pictures of those if interested, and there is a scratch on the passenger side front fender. All the black trim around the windows, and the luggage rack is peeling/fading, all the front lights have condensation in them. Besides the driver's seat, the interior looked really clean, and included the 20th floor mats (at least the front) The paint was extremely shiny, and the rub molding (Belt line?) looked to be in good condition still. The front and back bumper trim have "normal" wear. All the pictures I took can be seen on my myspace (if you are on my "friend" list)

The good...

Lounge / I think someone is trying to scam me.
I have my truck for ale on autotrader, and I get an e-mail from a guy from Las Vegas. He has offered to purchase the truck sight unseen, no test drive no nothing, and he would send the money to my paypal account. (I told him I don't have PayPal) I then proceeded to tell him that I would only accept cash, or a certified cashier's check. Either way, there would be a 12 business day hold on the truck or title before I would release it to make sure the funds are good. I also told him I would not accept over payment for the truck to pay a shipper for him, that he would have to make all arrangements and payments for shipping on his own. He agreed to my terms and the shot me what I consider to be a lowball offer. My biggest thing is if I decide to sell the truck to him, how do I prove I sold it? If he decides to load it with explosives and try to blow up the Hoover dam without transferring the title, the VIN would still come back to me. And why would someone in Vegas where there is no salt buy a vehicle from the land of salty winter roads? Things just don't seem to add up. What are my responsibilities as the seller? If the guy has 23 DUI's, and a lifetime license suspension could I get dinged for selling him a vehicle?
